What are your favorite ways to build the energy on the dance floor??
Starts with dinner for me. After everyone is done eating, I like to hit them with the pre dance jams that gets them to the point where they just jump on the dance floor
@@AaronStrawn I do the same! I have a post dinner playlist that I use to ramp up the energy. People dancing during dinner happens a lot lol.
Good music selection and mixes! Keep up the great work!!
GOOD STUFF!!!💯💪🏾
I have all the cheesy songs, but usually only play them by request. Normally, I'll play 3 or 4 dance, then when they get tired, I'll do classic rock or something until I think they're ready to shake it again. I try to do genres in groups of 3-5 songs, it seems to work out good. But of course, reading the room CAN change that. Good job! That dance set sounded great.
Fantastic video!!! Great advise. The only thing I can offer on top is not to have any gobo's or lasers on during the special dances as the photographer generally doesn't care for the laser dot on the brides forehead lol. Keep up the great work!!! Hello from Lindsay On Canada.
Love the gig logs man. I totally agree about not being cheesy, but maybe this depends on the region but YMCA still pops, I’ve done weddings playing YMCA and WAP explicit in the same night and they both go off. Of course it depends on the crowd but I guess YMCA is my guilty pleasure 😂 much respect to you and thanks for the videos!
NOICE!!
Are you guys beat matching radio edit songs are extended versions?
Bit of every thing but mostly intro edits.
Did you play “who let the dog out”?
even if you can beat mix. do your best to learn transitions that sound good. WORK on YOUR SKILLZZ people!!

Nice vlog. But do you ever do any non-white events? I'd like to see your music selections with a largely latino or black crowd. " Shut up and dance" doesn't fly with my gigs, so just wondering.
Yeah I do! Not many Latino events though. I'll make sure to bring the camera to my next one!
So nothing personal, I've heard your mixing and it's very good, but you seem to be very opinionated about others DJs being lazy or unskilled and not knowing how to work a crowd! Maybe you are meant to be rocking a club or EDC! Most of us mobile DJs, happily work our events and do the best we can. I would also like to point out that in most business settings, showing up in shorts and flip flops is considered very unprofessional.
I appreciate the compliment! I still do clubs and bars here and there (before covid) but unfortunately they dont want to pay enough in our area. I'm a little confused by your second statement. Of course I'm very opinionated about djs not being lazy and of course I think every dj should be skilled and rock crowds. I don't believe in doing the bare minimum. I think we should always be trying to be better. I agree about shorts and flip flops. I knew that this groom was very laid back. In other situations I would show up to set up in business casual. I often show up just how I did in this gig log to venues that we're at consistently at every weekend since we set up so early in the day and the staff knows us very well. Just depends on the situation. I can point out that being a dj is not usually "most business settings."
