    We're in our fasting time in my church. Every beginning of the year,after right after the Christmas and new year holidays we begin to fast and pray for 21 days. We're already in our 11th day as I send this message. How I do my fast is I eat no food till noon (12) when I take 1 coconut juice. I only eat 1 meal at dinner. Thank you Bob and the grace of God the father be upon you in Jesus name. Amen 🙏

    Even though I’m not ‘religious’ I love watching Bob et al and it’s made me start reading the bible out of interest.
    I used to think my morals came from my own thoughts but it’s clearly the historic aspect of living in a Christian country. If I was brought up in Saudi or elsewhere my morals would be totally different. Thankfully I was brought up in England and the inherent Christian values.

    • @QueenQaffir
      @QueenQaffir 13 днів тому +2

      I get what you’re saying, but the Bible says everyone has morality bc it comes from God. We ALL are born with and by the Holy Spirit, whether they accept or abide by it or not. Romans 2 says this.

    My question is: How do christians reconcile the instructions on slavery in the bible?

    • @danielanthony8373
      @danielanthony8373 12 днів тому

      Christians are under the New Covenant
      The New Testament and Jesus said he has come to set the captives free
      The Apostle Paul said No Jew No Greek No Man No Woman No Free No Slave We are all One in Christ Jesus
      There are many more of these verses and they were radical counter culture teachings which led to The end of Slavery World Wide led by Christians from Christian Nations mainly Britain France and the United States

    • @danielanthony8373
      @danielanthony8373 12 днів тому +2

      The instructions on Slavery were how you should treat your slaves and that you could only keep a slave for 7 years
      God did not introduce Slavery humans did God was working to end it from the second book of the Bible EXODUS which is God freeing the Entire Nation of Israelites from 4 centuries of Slavery

    • @danielanthony8373
      @danielanthony8373 12 днів тому +2

      Slavery in the Bible is completely different from the Slavery you are thinking about
      Slavery in the Bible was indentured servitude or working off a debt or working for a land owner or farmer for food and lodging

    On the subject of Lenton fasting. Jesus and some of the prophets fasted for 40 days denying themselves all food and drink including water. Should we as Christians adopt this practice or should we adopt any of the innovative traditions that have been given by various churches? Is it tradition we should follow or is it the spirit and meaning of fasting that we should consider when we fast?
    I do not believe that we should fast as Jesus did without food and water for 40 days the vast majority of churches don't advocate this either, it is simply dangerous especially for the frail or sick. Let's face it there is a great number of people who for whatever reason are frail and sick these days. I do not believe that making a token gesture by giving up non-necessities like chocolate or alchohol quite meets the meaning of a fast. Nor does a muslim fast seem to cut it with refraining from food and drink in daylight hours and feasting every night. I confess that as someone on a ketovore diet I cannot become a vegan for 40 days, nor not even a day, so I concentrate on the spirit and meaning of fasting during Lent rather than tradition. For me, this means fasting and praying, fasting for 3 days of the week, Friday, Saturday and Sunday not eating but drinking water and the other 4 days of the week eating just one regular meal in the evening consisting of animal products and drinking water. Fasting and praying with sincerity is more important than box ticking imo. But hey, that's just me.
    God wants us healthy in mind, body and spirit and to seek him earnestly in prayer and contemplation. This supercedes all traditions of men.

      That's Orthadox Judaism, not Orthadox Christianity, they made a renewed covenant, after going to Idol worship before the Prophet Azariah.
      If you can quote that from the new Testament, from Jesus, as he's the Messiah not the Prophet Azariah, during the Judean Kingdom after fighting with Pagans.
      Since when are Orthadox Judean laws applies to Christians, if Jesus did not command it, or pay it out in the new Testament?

      Did God make a covenant with Gentiles in the Torah? Or just Jews?

    Bob said Gentiles do not need to keep the Jewish feasts. Don't these verses prove that Gentiles are included
    into lsrael therefore they have to obey the same commandments Israel were given in the Torah?
    Ephesians 2:12 says, "remember that you [Gentiles] were at that time separate from Christ, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world".
    Romans 11:24 says, "For if you [Gentiles] were cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these [unbelieving Israelites], the natural branches, be grafted back into their own olive
    tree".
