Thank you so much for addressing this topic! Value-based care is definitely the trend our clinic is leaning toward. It is impossible to predict the future, but I really appreciate you sharing your insights and perspective since you've been in the field for a while. I wonder if there will become more of a niche in recruiting for health care administrative roles, especially those that can't be easily outsourced overseas, as medical coding has done (thanks for nothing, AAPC). Medical billing is so specific to regional carriers and regional TPAs, and I know there's a huge need for medical assistants, both more administrative and clinical. Thank you again! I have a new topic, though I'll scan your topics already covered, and that is about secondary insurance billing. Just today I got confirmation from a reconsidered secondary claim as being processed correctly with the patient owing MORE than she had from the primary! What is the point of secondary insurance if they don't cover the copay but instead deem a different and higher copay? It broke my brain. Anyway.... I'm so grateful for your channel. I'm hanging on as we swing in this new, post-pandemic direction, wherever we're headed! 😉
I would definitely call the payer and ask about that situation on that because that is definitely a unique response. I’m concerned they either didn’t know they were processing as secondary, or they didn’t receive the correct EOB from the primary insurance to see what they covered. It could be a few different things. Good luck!
@@navigatingthebusinessofmed8251 After I filed the reprocessing request, they did reprocess- and the patient owed the same copay as the primary deemed. So weird. But at least they seemed to acknowledge their first attempt at processing was incorrect.
Yes, I believe you do, but I have never personally had to figure out that situation so please go to the DEA website to confirm. Merry Christmas and thank you for watching!
Thank you! You’re absolutely 💯

when changing from federal to civilian practice do you need to reapply for a DEA license? Current DEA says restricted to government duties
