The RX7 deserves praise honestly, it's one of the very few rotary cars that has actually had a decent success. Engine aside it's a really good car, it has proven to be one of the most insane drift car platforms and if it wasn't overrated it would definitely be considered one of the most unique JDMs. Mazda has risked in experimenting with the rotary engine and it has done the best job with it yet

I’m turning 15 in a week and I will say I did believe the Supra’s were the fastest when I was younger. But I will say that I don’t like BMW’s or really any super/hyper car. I like the old Nissans not for how fast they can go or for their popularity, but rather for how they look. For example my dream car is the 2007 Nissan fair lady 350Z. I love the way it’s designed and I’m not even gonna get it modded. Just a white paint, black rims, and a simple spoiler is all I need.

The reason the FD3S rx7 is more popular than the FC3S and SA22C is because of Tokyo drift, mad mike, and other culprits. The main way it isn’t in as many edits is because of its issues and cut potential compared to the 2jz and 1uz.
Don't forget that it simply was an upgrade over the FC3S in so many ways, especially the driving dynamics and handling. While it might look like it's only more popular because of pop culture (don't forget about Initial D), the FD3S genuinely is the better car and deserves the love. The FC3S is just so iconic though.
