The Squier Paranormal Series had FIVE different standard guitars, and they're all winners in my heart. Still, I had to rank them. It was hard.
Toronado: • Squier Paranormal Seri...
Cyclone: • Squier Paranormal Seri...
Super-Sonic: • Squier Paranormal Seri...
Cabronita: • Squier Paranormal Seri...
Offset Telecaster: • Squier Paranormal Seri...

The Jazz-Tele makes a LOT of sense to me. I’ve always wanted a tele personally, however, I’ve never really found the body comfortable to play, but the Jazzmaster/Jaguar body is one of Fender’s most comfortable body shapes they’ve ever produced. Combining the Tele guts with the more comfortable body is one of those “why hasn’t this been done on a large scale sooner” when you stop to really think about it
Yup you're so right!
@@GetOffset you really improved it with that bigsby, it looks fantastic
(Although, with my love for Mustangs and Strats, my favorite's the Cyclone, I aint tall either 5"3')
I've looked forward to and thoroughly enjoyed all your videos on these. Love your enthusiasm and all the thoughtful comments!
Thanks Megan! I love your demos!
Thanks so much, Emily for reviewing and demoing these. I've been thinking of getting one or more of these and your videos have been really informative.
Glad it was helpful!
I’m glad the UA-cam algorithm found your channel for me. Your videos are great! 😀🎸
Thank you!
Thanks for shooting this video - it's good to know your opinion on them as you've played them all. I got the Cabronita baritone as I didn't have one, and it is awesome to play and really inspiring. I really wanted the Offset Tele but couldn't afford both at the time, and now I've gone and ordered an Eastwood Warren Ellis Signature Tenor 2P, so I guess it's going to have to wait a few more months at least.
Oh man I really really really wanted the Baritone. I hope I get one eventually. I'm still so sad I didn't get the Tenor Tele Fender did last year.
@@GetOffset I see that you wrote the essential tenor guitar chords guide on the Eastwood site - way cool!
Get Offset hook up with Trogly, he’s just got one delivered.
I bought a Toronado last week and I absolutely love it!
Great to hear!
thank you for this.
i want to build my own SSS Tele and watching a couple of your videos on this Squier series just answered some of my doubts..namely being able to install a middle SC on the Offset model, without needing to route it..and, judging by your input..not needing to replace the Bridge PU right a way.
Are you able to mount a Middle SC and a Neck Humbucker on the other pickguard models, too ??
i’m getting the 5way Free-Way blade switch, which gives us 10 PUp combinations..and that Offset Tele, will likely be, my Clean channel guitar.
that leaves me thinking now...of what approach i should take in order to building a Tele 70s Custom (SC + H) .
any suggestions ?
Preferably ..i’d go for a tele bridge with a stacked or rail “SC” together with a mini Humbucker or a full size PAF in the neck.
Since i want to Split the coils, on both PUs i was thinking of going with a 4 POT arrangement...like in the Toronado..
What about that bridge in the Toronado, then ?
do you think it would do the job ?
do you know if i could just swap it with a traditional Tele bridge ?
thanks again, very much, for these videos.
very helpful.
and i like your spirit and attitude, too ;)
cheers
I just got my Offset Telecaster after a long wait and I love it. Now that I see this video I'm glad to hear it is your favorite hahaha specially because I couldn't decide between that one and the pink Cyclone.
Btw thank you so much for all the demos, they are the best out there for this Paranormal series and helped me a lot!
Glad you enjoy it!
I'm on that fence right now. I was so set on the Cyclone but I'm leaning more towards the tele and I think this vid might have convinced me on it. that natural mahogany (okoume) is so clean
Yo! Awesome channel. Which one of these guitars would you find is most similar in size and feel to the classic vibe starcaster’s neck?
Great vid! I kind of want all of these but definitely don't have enough space. It's hard to know how one would bond or not bond with any of these guitars as it's very personal, but there's still lots of helpful info in this.
Do you think that Fender will continue producing these for 2021 or is it a just through the end of the year kind of thing?
I don't really think that they will -- in the past these special "series" guitars are limited runs, but if they're extremely popular the might get added to the standard lineup down the road.
Your favorite is definitely MY favorite. For so many months I’ve been drooling over the Fender version of this same model and finish that Chicago Music Exchange had put out.
Kudos to Squier for this one.
Same here that guy rocked some cool stuff on that vid , Sonic youth kind of stuff. Andy was it? Anyway I almost wish I got the walnut one instead of the butterscotch one
Thank you for this deep insight into this line of guitars.
My pleasure!
Where did you buy your 4-way switch for that Paranormal Jazz/Tele?
Sean at Gunstreet Wiring.
I'm dying for the offset Telecaster, just can't afford a new guitar right now. Family comes first. I was super happy the offset Telecaster is your favorite. Hopefully someday...... It will be mine. The walnut color is awesome!
Dont apologize for not liking something, it undermines your expertise.
Great video! Definitely going to get a fiesta red Cabronita...
Good choice!
Would you say the toranado has like a strat neck? I play a humbucker jazzmaster as my main guitar but would like basically the same guitar with a string through for certain things.
I don't know the last time I played a strat so I can't tell ya 🙁
Stratocaster has a longer neck than a Toronado. The Offset Telecaster has the same scale length as a Stratocaster.
Damnit. I had just decided on getting a G&L thinline instead of the paranormal offset tele. Now I'm undecided again *sigh*
Encore une vidéo tres intéressante! Merci Emilie!
Depuis Paris France,
Chris
Just got my Cyclone today, so far I’m really liking it!
I also have the elusive Baritone Cabronita Tele, which is seriously sweet, P90s make that guitar scream
Congratulations
What did you update the pick ups to on the super sonic?
I dropped in some Lollar Imperial Pickups and new wiring
ua-cam.com/video/CQgMsiUJC2M/v-deo.html
Please...does it stay in tune? or need to change the tuner machines? thanks
Which one? The super sonic is the worst at staying in tune out of the box but some graphite on the nut helped
I’m a sucker for that Cabronita too.. i love the Thinline designs.. I wish i could get one with the a70s custom arrangement.. ;)
If you were to lump the Starcaster in with these where would it sit?
The absolute tip top!!! I am in love with that guitar.
You picked my Guitar. When I saw this Guitar. I fell in love. Nice pick of my favorite.
I've been considering the Cyclone. What mods were you considering for that one?
I completely messed with the wiring. Here's a video I did on it: ua-cam.com/video/6QZqc4v8u-Q/v-deo.html
@@GetOffset Cool. Thanks. New subscriber.
@@FilmFlam Thanks so much!
I want your second favorite the White with the humbuckers can I buy that one from you.. I am serious,, please let me know.
Sorry, it has already been sold.
What about the white one with the piezo grenade?
Fully understand bonding with the instrument. I've been through so many guitars these past few years. I love the tones that you get from a Tele, but never found them comfortable. I have a 66 Jazzmaster, and a 65 Reissue Jazzmaster. I just broke down and purchased a PRS Zach Myer Les Paul style guitar. Lighter, and the neck feels pretty good. I'm really interested in this Offset Tele. Could be a keeper for me. Appreciate your opinion on these Emily.
Thanks so much! Hope you keep on loving that PRS
@@GetOffset You bet. I did get to play a Squier Paranormal Offset Tele...I liked it A LOT! I have my sights on that now!
@@Frank-in-NY I still have and love mine! Looks like they're on sale at Sweetwater atm: imp.i114863.net/c/2616080/937020/11319?prodsku=TeleOfParaSP&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.sweetwater.com%2Fstore%2Fdetail%2FTeleOfParaSP--squier-paranormal-offset-telecaster-shell-pink-with-mint-pickguard&intsrc=PUI2_7338
Almost two years later, how are you feeling about the Cabronita Tele Thinline?
I still think it's one of the best from the lineup but I sold it to make room for other things.
Totally understandable! Thanks for the reply. 😃
I have a Super Sonic and the tuning stability is horrible, take a look at the string cavities in the nut-very ragged and needed sanding as well as the frets. (but its SO cool)
I’ve been eyeing a Jim Root squire telecaster. But I want a lot of stuff ! Lol. ☠️☠️☠️👍🏼
Check out a John 5 Squier they are really good I have a gold and a black one better than my american fenders for sure
Get a used one now, cause they're discontinued
Should i get the cyclone or a squier classic vibe jaguar?
Oooof hard choice. I think it comes to whether you want that jag bite or not.
Get Offset its hard cuz i do want that jag bite , but at the same time I’d wanna try something different with a cyclone and the cyclones also cheaper.
Wow the Cyclone is cheaper? If you don't want to invest in mods, I think the Jag might be better honestly.
Get Offset I wasn’t planning on moding so I’ll def go with the jag then
I purchased the offset telecaster in surf green. It was such a great guitar except the hum on my amps in any channel except clean was unbearable. It had some type of grounding issue that I couldn't fix. I was so disappointed that I had to return it. I'm afraid to buy a new one, but maybe I just got a lemon.
Thanks for sharing! I'm really sad you had that experience :(
What’s your current baritone?
An eastwood sidejack
My toronado is blacked out like the boxer series and has a Duncan sentient and Nazgûl. It also has upgraded electronics. It’s a force of nature compared to where it started. Your jazzy needs a darker brown tort pickguard.
I don't really feel one way or another about the pick guard tbh
I'd you could buy a lefty supersonic I would get one as I think it would much better upside down (I'm right handed)
Why are you half-predicting a video I'm filming this week????
JK JK JK
...but also not jk
My personnal favorite is the Super-Sonic - I just can't let it down. BUT - I already have a Fender Offset Telecaster, so that one was out of the equation. I love the super-Sonic because it's the most different from my other guitars (and I have a lot though), and also because it was nearly perfect out of the box (except the strings of course).
I threw a MIM replacement 50's tele neck on a Squier parinormal offset tele (in butterscotch with black guard) body . The neck was too thin for me but works .. I swapped it for my own taste not that I had to at all. I was interested in the tornado but the double humbuckers and bridge look tacky.. the colour is awesome and if it had a humbucker in bridge and single in neck I might buy
🤘
The super sonic paranormal is hella thicc. I've done some ball crushing metal on it. No lie the stock pick ups on it are way better than both the meme Chapman ml2 and my old schecter banshee 7. Its really unique too and zebra pick ups are hot 🔥🔥
Killer video (:
Thanks!
Did they give you all six?
No they only gave me the cyclone.
I want a reverse supersonic ha
Tornado probably LOOKS the best but sounds the flattest.
I'm getting the Cyclone. Thing sounds like a mix between a strat and Jazzmaster.
Good choice!
All the Toronado needs is a simple setup. The factory slams the pickups down way too low. Once adjusted, the tone is amazing.
@@9021DX That's possible but didn't really impact how I felt about it overall.
I'm bout to get a Cyclone and if I don't like the trem, I'll just deck it. Haha
That's the spirit!
my favorite guitar is tagima, da pau em fender
You’re absolutely nuts for putting the Toronado last. Best guitar Squier has put out in a long long time.
Lol it's a great guitar but it just doesn't light my fire.
The classic vibe Starcaster is the best Squire has put out in a while.I want a Tele custom.
Great tank top
Thanks!
Funny I have a Toronado and an Offset Tele
Which do you like more?
Squire rules! Their Vintage series is awesome, and not just because they are affordable :-)
CV and above are great guitars
Nobody played Toronados even when they came out
hahaha, some people were really excited about that one!
@@GetOffset I remember looking at the toronado model with the starsky and hutch stripe back in the day but many people were comparing the toronado to a Les Paul with muddy pickups.
love the super sonics, just not the colors
Yeah I wish they'd picked at least one more exciting color.
Jazz Tele ...with a bigsby ok
but brown ewww.
Love the maple neck.
I don't usually like brown guitars, but I like Elvis Costello so a brown JM shape doesn't bother me.
Oh shame Emily. Not the Tornado
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Ok, I've watched a few of your videos and every time I expect you to say "Hi, I'm Amy Farrah Fowler and this is fun with flags. Sorry Sheldon couldn't be here but he's busy working on an invisibility cloak formula."
Hahah. Fun fact, my dad proposed Farrah as a possible name for me😂
I'm trading my Super-Sonic. I just can't with that thing. No connection at all.
Also, I love my Toronado! Night and day between it and the Super-Sonic. The Super-Sonic PUPs just don't sound good to me at all and the smaller nut width just doesn't work with my hands, plus it just sits and hangs funny on my body.
Yeah the Super-Sonic is a very physically odd guitar and I can absolutely see how it wouldn't jive with a ton of folks.
Really? I love mine. Great for the 90s stuff.
@@haywarddaryl the pickups didn't sound good out of any of my amps. If it would've sounded decent I probably could've looked past any playability issues I had with it.
I love that Squire tele with the Bigsby tremelo on it. That looks sharp as hell!
Despite very similar dimensions, Jazzmaster pickups are NOT P90s.
True but they sound nothing like strat singles or humbuckers either,
so they do kinda sound more like p90 pickups.
This is correct.
Watch at 1,25x. Thank me later.
OK
pooooorra 15 guitarra e nao tocou nenhuma. 👮
Good review...plus, you’re really cute. 🥰
Glad you liked the demo!
No Norm, you’re really cute. How’s about you and me?
