Another cunning plan Baldrick? Turning your microphone level down so that we, your loyal viewers turn our volume up to revel in the subtle tones of your sweet voice until.......the bloody alarm goes off. Nearly shat myself which would not have been good as I was sitting on the couch wearing only my dressing gown. The 'black death' was very nearly supplemented by the brown brew. Both the Vito and myself seem to have survived the incident unscathed, this time.
Honestly this has been brilliant for our Wednesday evenings entertainment 😂😂 the alarm cutting was like bomb disposal meets carry on films. Toaddead is top quality 😂😂 As ever you and Fudgie are the morcambe and wise of spanners. Perfect thank you
Carried out this job twice now. Firstly 2007 1.4 TDCI Ford fiesta with 128000k - Injector 1 only! Chuffing away and bringing a diesel fragrance into the cabin. Black muck everywhere. I agree only replace what you need to. Watching videos like this one, gave me the confidence to do the job my self, the only tool you need in addition is a cutting tool, oh and a plastic drinking straw! Adapt the straw to fit a vacuum hose to help with cleaning the ports and holes etc. with my new found experience I then had an injector issue with a 2012 1.6tdci ford cmax with 81000k. Having no computers to fully establish which injector was really busted (no 1 as it happens ) I whipped them all out and gave to an injector specialist in yate who happens to be a customer of mine. Who provided an awesome service tested every injector and established the broken one and provided a replacement . (I even have an heads up as to which injector is likely to fell next) so replacement re seating them with new copper seals. Top tip based on my own experience get seals from the dealer ie Ford, just a better fit. Again AL I’m glad you covered this topic on the diesel engine. Interesting my car has had a replacement injector before by Ford (injector 4) originally I paid Ford to do this as part of service and warranty etc. thing is I paid for this work just for one and it was a lot of dosh. The injector test I had told me that this was a recon that Ford used?!?!?! I paid a lot of dosh for and this injector is more than likely to fell next! 🤔
I have just done the injector seals on a Ford Kuga and spent ages trying to clean the black death off it, I wish I had known about that cleaner beforehand.
Thanks Al. Your channel often makes me chuckle, but I rarely laugh out loud at anything I watch. Your reaction to setting the BL@*DY alarm off made me LOL for real. The last time that happened to me, I was working on a horrible LR Discovery that my ex gf had unwisely bought. I cut all the wires but it didn't stop. It apparently had a battery in the horn itself, so I ripped it out and dropped it in a bucket of water. It took an impressively long time to die!
That's the only way to deal with after market alarms!🤬 Cut all wires and forget about it!!!😁 Educational and interesting as usual and Fudgey having a smashing time in the background. Happy Wednesday 👍
I hate cheap aftermarket alarms so much 😂😂. I remember once working on customer's car. An the alarm kept going of on it the guy i was working with came along cut it out and hit it with a 1 pound hammer when customer came back to collect it he said oh I have some spare parts for you he gave him the remains of the alarm 😂. Nice work there Al an Fudge no more f bombs 😂😂. I will have to go to church twice now on Sunday 😂😂.
Hello Al great job and at a reasonable hourly rate can you believe Jaguar Land rover are charging £190 an hour labour . Also there is a dedicated slide hammer tool you can buy just for pulling injector washers out ,it has a tapered thread on the end and it works first time every time.
Can't even count how many injectors I've mined out over the years on mercs. As an ex mercedes trained technician it was a daily task. Always dreaded it
You know your stuff pal… I’m even considering making the long journey down when I need owt doing !!…. Just bought a 67 plate lwb 314 sprinter with a genuine 40k on the clock . What do I need to look for or maintain … cheers
Those labour rates are excellent, here in the states an independent shop like you lads about 75,90 $ hr,can't go near a dealer unless it's covered by warranty And most have the stooges employed, who's favorite vernacular is idk, more 6D diesels 👍
Have you tried testing the COPPER washers with a magnet ? us green oval nutters have had problems with the " blue box " company where copper washers stick to magnets, I found out the hard way they don't seal very well, great show lads brightens up the day.
Bloody alarms going doda😮💨 had the same when the alarm went off as i was locked off a security van 😮 luckily enough the bonnet was faulty and i was able to pull the wires off the speaker..... no cameras back then so you could get away with that, nowadays you'd be on the carpet
Put the subtitles on for the post fix talk over the engine running and it said "Right up the bott with Leakage Lil"😮 The mind is well and truly boggled now.
Are there any oil passages that can get wet when you steam clean that area? Would be my biggest concern... That cleaner spray seems to do a nice job, with some help from you... 😉 Thanks for showing, really interesting! 👍👍👍
Fairplay all but I always do the lot while I'm in there but that's me have to say for a man of your skill £65 an hour is cheap nowadays no your worth mate love your vids keep em coming m8😊
If one has misplaced yer can of Inotech fancy-stuff, Lidl do barbeque cleaner thats pretty much the same stuff except cost about a quid..... still a massive pita of a job.. I have another to face into tmrrw. Effort.
Hi al love the videos as usual just wanted to update you on the 3.5 ton tipper situation. I’ve just purchased a iveco 3.5 ton tipper 21 plate with19k miles and after first 5 days has been brilliant so far, thanks for your advice pal! Also I have 1 other van which is ford transit connect limited 2019 (69 plate) that is just coming up to 70k miles which I plan to keep for another yr and I’m about to have it booked in at my local garage for a major service but after watching this video on the Vito I’m wandering if I should have cam belt and anything else done while it’s there. Do you recommend having the belt and water pump done at same time as a major service fella? Any advice would be much appreciated pal, would love to bring down for you guys to do but being from Maidstone in Kent little bit far haha many thanks for all your videos too mate.
I have a feeling a transit connect of that age has a wet belt for the oil pump ( they are bad news) I’m sure you can get a conversation to put a chain back on it 👍
@@6DDIESELSDorset ok mate thanks for your reply, when booking it in for major service I’ll ask if I can get wet belt swapped for a chain, I would still need cam belt changed tho mate wouldn’t I? And should I ask if cam belt kit comes with water pump kit too? Many thanks mate I know your a busy man
Need fit new fuel pump in my 651 14 plate sprinter. Right looking forward to it! Being 6ft 8 wish a had a skilled little human to plounk in the engine bay to do it! Van has done 289k so no shame init

Al thanks for another very good how to it looks so easy ,question for ya . Just got a 2007 w639 111 diesel it has a metalllic ticking noise at low revs which disapears on higher revs but it is quite pronounced when it is ticking ,what could that be ? and its not blowing by either have cheacked that before asking 😉
I’ve had it with a shot injector you’d almost say it sounds like a little end gone. Changed the injectors and it went . Could possibly be a cam bucket 👍
I had a 55 plate vito I brought with 2 injector seals gone unfortunately some clever bugger couldn't get the injector out so decided to try winding the bolts down tighter wrecked the thread in the head , I tried a helicoil that didn't hold so ended up with a insert in there , 18months later another one failed on a different injector, horrible things , lovey van to drive and wasn't bad on fuel , would have a another one though
Hi. Enjoyed the insane comedic values.👍👍. As a keen model boater, just wondering whats happening to the IC boat? Appreciate you're busy and weather is mediocre but think a two minute update in next video would be a good thing. I love the VW content being a fan of the mark. 🤣🤣

Great video Al. Have a good week
Same to you👍
Good job I always heat da copper washer on the end of a screw driver with a blow torch before you dropped it in seat's better
Well that alarm going off was a tad annoying. Still the bulkhead under the screen seemed happy enough with its little black eyes and smiling mouth. 😂

Aftermarket alarms need a 12lb rejuvenation device at high speed repeatedly.
👍 Great channel.
How long was the owner driving it before he brought it in for it to have that much black death build up?
In his defence we couldn’t get it I. For over a month and that’s not the worst I’ve seen 👍

All cleaned out and it’s an F73 fourtrak 👍
Does (Full fat) Coke work as de-carboniser, heard from mechanics over the years but never tried it.
Miss the edit out Al of Fudgies "F" Bomb!!! 😂😂😂
Is there any progress with the rubbish tip behind your parents house?
Sadly not as expected, nothing has changed
Al how do you remove a back injector ?
We’ve got all sorts of kit for stuck ones and take the scuttle panel out for better access 👍
what size thread cleaning tool for the stretch bolts
