Just got fit for the 0311 Gen 3 P with Steelfiber I95, after the fitting he couldn't get me out of the booth just wanted to keep hitting it. Amazing feel and performance. Tried about a dozen different shafts and half a dozen heads, this combo was the best for me. Tried to resist looking at the club I was hitting, probably would have leaned toward the Miura had I known what I was hitting but the PXG wow I was blown away.
Really useful as I am debating between the t and p largely because I prefer less offset and thinner top lone. But seems the p might be the one to go with being in my late 60s, perhaps less drop off on Mishits - though have been debating the apex pro 21 which I have tested and really like. Latter with mmt graphite shaft. Options include the mmt or the kbs max graphite.
Those Apex Pros are getting rave reviews by everybody that hits them on the THP forum. In our live streams we breakdown the entire Apex line and the Pros were fantastic.
@@THPGOLF agree and as a 12 handicap I must say I was getting good numbers and much better sound, feel and results than my current apex cf19. Beautiful looking club and far prefer to the sx7, P770, p7mc (like my previous p760s), cobra etc forged, and more that I extensively tested the 7 iron on course. Only one that came close with great flight, accuracy and distance though losing a little as loft is 34 degrees is the jpx 921 sel tour. Mmt shaft I tested in the pro took some adjusting to but liked it. Dilemma now between this and the pxg gen 3
Possibly. We have a lot of feedback coming on PXG on the THP Forum, so not sure on Range Days video, but as the new gear comes out, more videos are made. We just put up 2 more on the new Callaway irons and have some putter videos coming this week too.
Just try everything they have. I got fitted today & ended up with a gen 3 P 5-6 + T 7-PW. I wanted "more forgiveness" but couldn't ignore how well I hit the T. The narrower sole just worked better for me. And with the recent price cut, the cost is now comparable to clubs like P790 or Apex instead of being stupid expensive.
Thank you. I took your advice and hit several different brands. I ended up getting fitted for the Mizuno JPX 921 forged in a dynamic gold s300 120. The shaft fitting system they have was dead on the money. Great videos. Thanks
thanks for the question! I think the P is definitely that more compact player profile (heel to toe and depth) without giving up on some of the critical elements of tech like forgiveness and ground engagement. It's a great transitional iron for those who aren't quite ready to go to that maximum support style head. While we saw some great performance elements out of the XP (see the video last week), and some great strikes out of the more demanding T, I really found 'home' for my game with the P.
So this kind of blows the whole reason for doing is is give us a review if the club‘s not right for you bend it right for you and give us a good review

Hi. Any plans to test the PXG 0317 X GEN2 Hybrid? Thank you.

Getting fitted soon for PXG. Would you spend the extra money for gen 3 or stick with gen 2?
We would go in open minded for many brands.

Gen3 is softer feeling than the Gen2 and go a tiny bit farther but they do feel better.
Canadan- any comment contrasting the P with the XP models?

I combo the XP and P.
XP in 5-7 and the P in 8-G.
