Great review!!! This really helped me go with DX9's version. Received the figure a few days ago and couldn't be happier. Only thing I wished they added was a rotating symbol plate on the left forearm, so that when you transform him into rocket mode, you can rotate the symbol upright.
I think the wei jiang version crushes them all.lights ,sounds and a motorized tank? Come on no comparison. Not To mention the added detail and a robot doctor to make repairs on omega when he’s feeling under the weather. Lol😎
Wow, and I thought Fanstoy's version couldn't be topped! The stability on this guy looks great and the fact that they made the legs transform a million times easier on this guy makes the transformation look way less frustrating. I want to say this guy will be the best version but who knows how much better the Wei Jang one will be?
I've been a fan of DX-9 ever since they released their initial pre-release photos of Gewalt. I pre-ordered Gewalt and when he came in, I couldn't have been happier. The quality and build of my Gewalt was impressive, and truly on par with any other company. However, seeing their version of Omega beat out Fans Toys, head to head, is something even I didn't expect. I thought my choice would be based soley on preference, but seeing those hip issues w/ Giganticus is a huge concern, especially with how new that figure is... For me that is the defining point of difference between these two options.
I actually went back to watch the other reviews on Giganticus after seeing this, and in those reviews his hips seem more stable, so who knows. I just wish DX-9's version had more painted details and more decal options. I also wish they used a translucent chest like they were showing in their initial prototype images. The version from FT really does win when it comes to the details, and that's something DX-9 could've really nailed if they wanted to. So I guess I still haven't decided completely just yet... Ugh.
Shodaximus DX9 Omega for the win overall.....I like the decals as well but I'm a sucker for placement from building Gundams....I like DX9's cartoon aesthetics as well. I also like the finish more on DX9 and the heavy duty ratchets.
This one is pretty cool. Your video makes me happy my Terminus does not have the stability issues yours has, otherwise I may have considered getting the DX9. Thanks for the excellent video.

And... My favorite thing about this is that the damn face turns around and becomes something useful/cool. I never liked that on the old G1 toys are the multitude of third party offerings over the years. Throw in the fact that the new Diaclone peeps are in scale with this and Id want two of them tbh. Id want one in bot mode and the other in base mode with Dianauts running around.
Now that the DX9 Gabriel reviews are in, so glad I waited. Gabriel transformation is so much smoother. Don't know what FT's was thinking with those leg transformations. Thanks Ben.

This guy seems pretty fantastic, but I'm holding out for your review of Weijiang's before pulling the trigger on any of them. If nothing else, Weijiang's is bound to be significantly cheaper, and current reports show it to be the same relative size (60cm, although nothing confirms if the reported high includes his wings or not).
I have actually sold my FT Omega because of his issues. He is to unstable for me and the risk of him falling of my display just was to big I am so happy Im getting this one instead. Thanks Ben great video. Much better stability and man he looks more toon accurate as well. Hope you are feeling a lot better soon and the constant pain will be gone asap mate. looks like a great release by dx9 even though I have fanstoys. The fact the legs/back do not parts form makes it extremely solid. Seems better build than fanstoys but both are great offerings. what a time to be a transformers fan/collector
It’s great that the kids enjoy this figure so much, but honestly if it were my kids playing with my MP figure like this, I would have a fit. That’s what the voyager and generation figures are fo.
It looks like a design feature that might have been useful to have would be the ability to slide the inner arms all the way up and all the way down so the access ramps can open to an empty space or even to take the inner joint out completely when in rocket mode. I'd also have liked a tiny rubbery Omega with removable arms that broke up into parts such as the tank as that is sort of how he's supposed to get around sort of last minute suck all his base parts into himself when flying in rocket mode and them dump them all out again when he lands. Speaking of rubber things though - I wonder what the PVC Busy Book Transformers would look like with this guy's Base mode.
I saw on a picture that you can set the wings in a configuration so that they expand further to give a wider (and a bit higher) appearance. I wonder if that is the one you were showing when you were taking measures. Thanks for the review. It really makes me want to pick this one over FT's.
Both have great bot modes, with a couple of niggles each. For me, it comes to alt mode. I don't like DX9's alt mode. There are a lot of design choices I don't like, like the feet just sitting at the side of the track. But, it looks like no matter which one you buy, you will have a great Omega Supreme on your shelf
That looks so nice & smooth on that articulation!! And those side hip skirts...smallest ever, much? Even though it's meant to scale with MPs, I'd totally rock this as my Classics era Omega Supreme (especially since it's way cooler than that silly Doomtrain wannabe from Superlink/Energon). Besides, Omega should probably be larger than someone like Jetfire, so the craptastic Hasbro Leader class one or the bizarre X2Toys one should scale fine with this beast. (I'd also reckon that the old Midget [Classics Voyager Optimus Prime] or KuBianBao's MP10V would scale better with either Gabriel or Terminus Giganticus...cuz Omega is just that much larger than Prime.) Of course, I realize that all this time, I had fooled myself - I always thought that G1 Omega's HEAD was the tank... never knew it was his head & body.
Watching your measurement carefully the Fanstoys Terminus looks about 1/4 of an inch taller at the HEAD. And just eyeballing Terminus looks significantly taller at the shoulder.
Looks like an awesome bot, but if you are in the states it isn’t worth buying from Robotkingdom. Their price is slightly lower but you will pay more than $120 for shipping.
DX9 does have better light features for the claw and gun, but Fanstoys has light up eyes and matrix chamber. DX9 got some of the engineering better in regards to the transformation. I like the tank features better on DX9.
I never knew about the blow dryer trick. Just heat the part and it will reform? I bent a tab on my FT skyfire/jet fire and it has worried me. Ill try to heat it and reform it now.

Ahhhh shiet! Already bought FT Omega thinking they dominate the toon look and quality build but DX offered more.... for less. Gonna have to pick up DX too
Got mine today, it broke within the first hour thanks to some ridiculously tight ratchets on the left shoulder and arm. I could almost live with the broken ratchet on the shoulder, as the piece is still tight even though it doesn't actually ratchet now, but I cannot physically move the left arm outwards without it feeling like I'm going to tear the entire thing off of the body or snap the cannon at the joint. Really not good enough for £270!!! I can only hope Kapow will sort it.
I preordered Gabriel from tf-direct. The hip ratchet joint was so tight, while transforming it it broke right off. I emailed tf-direct that day with pics and video. They told me they couldn’t replace it but sent me replacement parts. Tried unscrewing, but some of the screws were already stripped. I emailed them again, they said try a rubber band. Many of the holes are recessed and the screwdriver and rubber band cannot reach together. I emailed tf-direct again and they have said sorry. You’re out of luck, hope you understand.
