      I heard you say that ya’ll doctored more calves this year than ever before. Wondering what might be the cause? To much rain … genetics… just asking because I figured you were also.
      AND great Cowboying with the stubborn calf in the water. That’s how a Cowboy get’s the job done…

      @@dalewadsworth5703 Thank you so much. He definitely didn't make it easy on us. This year has been unusually wet and not as warm as usual. Being up there so high, the effects of it being cold and wet increased the amount pneumonia that they got.

    How do you remember witch calves you gave the shot to 🤔👍

    • @lightningspringsranch
      @lightningspringsranch  8 місяців тому +2

      Good question! Each calf has a numbered ear tag in their ear to identify each one. We keep extensive notes every time we give shots or anything to keep track of which calf got what.

    What drainage are you riding? I've ridden a lot of the Uinta's, And that country looks similar, but I'm not sure I've explored that drainage.

      This is the deadman drainage. The lake at the top is deadman lake

      I'll have to look it up and see where it's at I've camped up a lot of the popular areas. Red Castle. Timothy's, Kidney-Brown Duck, Brownie-Spirit lake, Four Lakes Basin. I help the ranchers gather cows up around Strawberry, down by Ferron and by Fish Lake in the fall, Great experience for the horses that just trail ride.

      That sounds awesome! That always is one of the best things you can do for horses. Yeah this drainage is more to the East above Lapoint Ut.
