Thanks Dave for the video. Norm's layout is my all time favorite. Loved the street and alley scenes you captured. So realistic, his layout has that grittyness I like.
Glad you enjoyed it, yeah Norms layout has the kind of detail I dream about but know I’ll never have the patience to create for myself.
Man, that's quite a lash-up of layouts! Now I know this isn't a competition but even though I'm not a big fan of weathering or modeling urban decrepitude I've got to give top marks to Norm Charbonneau! Absolutely incredible modeling and detail work! And in addtion to which I've got to admire the incredible patience required to produce a masterpiece like Norm's!
Oh, and i'm suprised that whoever put those Pennsylvania Railroad locomotives on the head-end of a New York Central passenger consist didn't burst into flames! Talk about tempting fate!
Anyway, great video work Dave, and thanks for brining us along into all those "Inner SAnctums!"
Yeah Norms layout is another world, so much detail. I was amazing to see.
The NYC cars started out behind a NYC engine, but then there were more to run, and not enough cars to swap them out. I think fate understood the situation
Thanks Dave, those are some unique engines and layouts. I've always been a huge fan of Norm's layout. I draw a lot of my inspiration for modeling my layout from his. He's one of the few I know about that builds that level of design detail in 3-rail O. If his layout doesn't give you inspiration to get to work on yours, nothing ever will.
Oh norms layout definitely got me thinking and inspired!
I just like the black ceiling joist and everything up there in black. It takes one’s eye away from the structure of the house.
It is a very cool touch.

Very nice, for sure. Those are some of the best layouts you will find, anywhere. Norm's, though, is the standard and the rest of us just have to bow to the Master. An excellent video, as always.

Hello Dave we just seen it by half an hour ago it was great I'm giving some thought about Turner old layout up infinite like yours is I mean don't get me wrong I like ours it's 8 1/2 by 9:00 but you can't fix something if it breaks and again thanks so much for the videos

This video takes a couple viewings to take in.
That’s how I felt filming the layouts. I only had about an hour at each one and a lot of that time was taken up with other things.
