The dock: - What is it? This is not fish. Go away, peasant! The villager: - Wait, I'm a fisherman now. Therefore it is fish. The dock: - Alright then! We'll take it.
Holy shit how did I not know you not losing the wood when making a farm. Constantly was shift clicking to town center and then make a farm - already worth to watch the video after a minute. 🤩
Yeah, it works with constucting almost all eco biuldings (TC, farms, mining/lumber camps, mills; but exept docks - vil save gathered resourses but didnt drop to main bank) Also if villager was tasked to build eco building before it was finished, he still drops all type of resoureses that he had on hands to main bank , even if that villager arrives when building was already constructed.
Its not the most obvious :p original aoe2 you lost the res as soon as you tasked a new resource (without even gathering). If I'm being lazy with deer luring or losing my scout, I often like to use 4 hunters from afar and build the mining camp for gold which saves my walk back to the tc.
Only thing I didn't like about the video was it made it sound like it's 10 wood ONLY and therefore it's like 50 wood from the stockpile for a farm + 10 in hand... although it would show up as minus 60 in the main stockpile. But maybe that's just my slow morning head working the gunk out of my gears/getting the wheels spinning up.
Thank you for the great output lately, Hera! You are a very important pillar in the aoe-community and we all appreciate your work! Keep it up and the best of luck to you!
For me, number two with petards was an unexpected reminder. The fact that I knew the rest is just a compliment to the community that managed to educate me a lot. 😀
another good tip is that u can garrison vills in your allies tcs and they will add up the resources that they carry to your stockpile, sometimes i do it in nomad
Indeed, guess Mr. Hera dont have much experience in tg's migration gameplay. That trick helps a lot to gather needed resources for TC without asking for sling.
A couple even tinier tips: If a deer starts to walk back you can reset it by shooting it with one vil. This comes in handy when you are pushing near your mill on hideout. When you spam farms click the new mill last and the vils will auto distribute rather than build the farms as a mob. Now if I could only remember what % of heavy plow I should place farms at.
@@fgnoyola I didn’t see him comparing them? That’s the douchey part. It’s because you made assumptions to the fact that he was being compared when the way I read it, he was promoting another content creator which I believe is imo in top 5 for English speaking teachers of this game. Absolute precision when it comes to explaining the information we’re looking for. A worthy mention as I’ve also viewed his content😊.
funnily enough, I knew the #1 tip but didn’t know the #2 tip 11 I watch a LOT of competitive AoE2 and have not often (in fact, never!) seen Petards defending against ram rushes! I guess that’s because most high level pros are always scouting the opposition and thinking one step ahead, so they’ll often have a mangonel ready to EZ kill those rams! (or BBCs in Imp vs. Siege Rams)
I had no idea petards had a bonus against rams. What a game changer. With my rock-solid 1k elo there's no way I'm going to have the APM to drop off hunt at a dock. Looking forward to seeing you do it in the next tournament as a flex
Knew about all of these except #1, I recall the patch stating that previous resources collected would go into the deposit when you tasked your villagers to a different resource. Upon testing I noticed this didn't work, so I never tried it again, I guess it must have been farms only. My main issue is AMP, handling both my army and my eco, and for some reason waypoints and shift tasks don't always work as i'd like, for example I'll task 2 villagers to build a market, then I shift click them back to the resource they were gathering, so build first, then go back to work. After 30 seconds I realise they haven't started building yet.....
Nice video! here are the ones I knew and the ones I didn't 5. Knew it 4. Had seen it but didn't know I had to spam the house!! that's what I was missing 3. Knew it 2. Didn't know it D: 1. Knew it ;)
Apparently I know my shit 11, finally something which I do know. Great tips for someone who is newer and/or didn't know this yet, keep up the good work hera!
Knew them all. The number 1 been using it on nomad for hunt for a long time just alot of micro so if you forget your vill will walk back to your base. 11
I didn't know you only needed to click the villager to fish of any kind to let them drop off at the dock! I thought the vil had to collect at least 1 food from the shore fish on top of whatever they were already carrying for it to work. I thought it wasn't worth it because hunters carry way more than shore fishermen can, so I never even tried.
Wow the last one is sick!!! Did you notice that now you cannot place a foundation where there is a unit? I don't mean build it, but place it, so that if the unit moves, you can inmediately build it. Now it doesn't allow you, so it's harder to quickwall.
As a long time aoe player I do appreciate the effort set in the controls Aaaaand as a long time aoe player im also having fun squishing all the newbies. Can absolutly learn alot playing someone ages beyond your skill level, and I have 0 problem being that guy. That being said it is quit interesting holding back just to see what or how someone reacts. Especially someone with 0 rts game *WP!
Man deposit's venison at the dock Dockman: What are you doing? That's not fish? "Fisherman": Uh...yeah it is. I may have gotten my license two seconds ago but clearly you don't know what deerimeanFISH meat looks like!
Knew all but one, and thought the castle one would be to body-block the rams. Or crazier once, like bring a villager with your archers to put down houses/buildings as walls against melee charges.
Ahhh the corner walls tips, that explains why I started mining stone on the opposite side of my wall.... There was a corner touching the stone.. So somehow the villager could mine it. In my opinion this needs fixed! Shouldn't be able to do that. Maybe wood walls not stone+ upgraded. Bs.
Hey great tips! Not a fan of this new music style, way too intense and distracting under what you're saying. The lofi is far better Also I really liked your titles font / styling from previous videos as opposed to this basic white text. And I've never seen "number" abbreviated as "Nr". Looks so weird compared to the traditional "#" or "No."
130 food 40 gold worth of petards to kill a ram costing 160 wood and 75 gold ram sounds like it should not be a thing tbh. Especially that fast imping for trebs is already preferred way of dealing with castles.
I never understood what hera says for his intro. a. "Hello everyone and welcome back to a video" b. "Hello everyone and welcome back to another video" c. "Hello everyone and welcome back to THE video" Which one is it? Vote now!
I knew 1, 2, 3 and honourable mention. 4 I would never have thought of! 5 I sort of knew but for some reason I though I had to start collecting the fish. But all that has to be done is to click!
At mid 500 elo its going to be funny for me to set up a farming spread around the dock haha. Do it just to see if they take notice lol. Love the video.
Great tips!!! I didn’t know any except number 1. I learned that by accident on nomad, I built a dock, than lamed an opponents boar, forgot about it while my guy was collecting, put him on shore fish and I got the food!
To help with the deer to dock trick, is it possible to shift click a vill from deer next to the dock so it will appear as idle and than you can grab it and drop the food of?
I've got three questions: 1. What happens to the wood a lumberjack is carrying if they're tasked to farm an already built farm? 2. Can I task a miner to build a farm and have the stone/gold added to my stockpile? 3. If multiple resource carrying villagers are tasked to build farms, do the resources get added to the stockpile when the first farm is built or when they start farming on their individual farms? If four lumberjacks are tasked to build four farms with shift command, the fourth villager stays under the "builder" label until the fourth farm is built. But the first lumberjack goes from builder to farmer as soon as the first farm is built. Hence my question 😅
1. For an already built farm, as soon as villager starts gathering resources, your wood would just disappear. 2. Yes you can. That trick works for all four types or res. 3. Didn’t notice but I think the resource would just add to the stockpile when the first farm is built.
Hey everyone- cast a glance at your nation's resources, and take a shot at the mini-map for combat- in the real world. Sadly society is collapsing and being distracted by games is going to leave us like a Dark Age Vill against a Fuedel Age society under a small but tyrannical government entering post-Imp in the real world. We might have months left of a stable society, due to the economy (dollar collapse & banks failing), nevermind entering world war, so if you're waiting until then to develop your stable base of real life, you might greatly regret all the time you dumped on this game. There's positive, supremely productive things we can do with our time- but the window of efficiency is about to slam shut. You are ready for this. You have all you need to start moving forward and it just gets better & better as you do
The dock: - What is it? This is not fish. Go away, peasant!
The villager: - Wait, I'm a fisherman now. Therefore it is fish.
The dock: - Alright then! We'll take it.
The Dock: This sure is a weird fish.
The villager: Yeah, its a Sea Cow.
The Dock: Oh, that makes sense.
Farmer: these are sea cucumbers. Why wouldn't they be?
The Dock: What is that? Looks like lettuce to me!
The villager: No. This is seaweed
The Dock: Oh, ok. I'll take it then
Modern Cuisine my Fishmonger friend... Bacon Wrapped Speckled Trout. Or Lamb Stuffed W- Anchovies.
The Dock: This sure is a weird fish.
The villager: Yeah, its a Seabra

Bruh… can we talk about that farm placement though 😆😆

Holy shit how did I not know you not losing the wood when making a farm. Constantly was shift clicking to town center and then make a farm - already worth to watch the video after a minute. 🤩

If it makes you feel better, i've seen people doing exactly the opposite: losing their resources bc they don't deposit them before changing
Only thing I didn't like about the video was it made it sound like it's 10 wood ONLY and therefore it's like 50 wood from the stockpile for a farm + 10 in hand... although it would show up as minus 60 in the main stockpile. Petards don't do "a tiny bit of splash damage". They do full damage in a 0.5 tile radius.
