Please do the PFSense video. It would be great to see PFSense/Tailscale/Mullvad exit node configuration. Been trying to configure Tailscale VPN as an exit route for a LAN so I don’t need Tailscale app on a machine. Struggling. Followed some guides and got stuck. Thanks
I have not figured out how to do that with Tailscale, but I do have a tutorial on how to do that with pfsense and OpenVPN ua-cam.com/video/ulRgecz0UsQ/v-deo.htmlsi=eJhQ5p4KFTYhAaHq
Mulvad is a bit like an exit node, if you choose one, default route gets changed and there is no way to disaable that in tailscale. I dont now if you can do some magic with route metrics to override tailscales default route.
Hi there, great video. I want to try out the Mullvad exit nodes but I have a question about the recurring subscription. Can you cancel it easily within the Tailscale account?
Great combination but tailscale app is missing functions available in mulvad- kill switch and lockdown mode and lockdown mode. Hope this option will apear and will be reliable when it’s critical to not disclose location for remote working. Currently using raspberry with openwrt and mulvad routing only through vpn- travel router for travelling/working
Hmmm... I'd much rather go the other way around or bridge locally. To have data going through this way, I feel like there is exposure before it hits mullvad as it is last in the chain. I'm probably understanding this incorrectly. Please help me understand why this method isn't compromised. I mean (per the description), I feel a lot LESS comfortable with tailscale having access to my info than Mullvad. Mullvad is supposed to be the safeguard entity in this scenario.
Ahh, but I know there's a broad community out there that is porting various things unofficially to the Unifi equipment. Do you know if there's anything out there in the community for that?
it's pretty complicated to try and get two wireguard vpns setup at the same time, this handles that for you so you don't have to go edit any config files and mess with ip tables, etc.
Also the fact that the VPN service doesn't know who you are (as explained in the video), provides an extra layer of protection not possible with a standard VPN service (which could be hacked or your data leaked ).
@@javiej fun thing with Mullvad they don't really collect any info on there user other than a random number they give you that you can apply credit to by any means you see fit , you can even drop cash in the mail if wish. They where recently subpoenaed for user info the detectives walked away with nothing as there was nothing they could give them
Do you have a video which shows how to share an exit node with another user, including the ACLs etc to get it to work? I tried getting tailscale to work and allow my mother's account which I created to access her network, but failed using both Gmail accounts. I ended up signing into all necessary nodes with my own account just to get it working, which is far from ideal. :/
I'm confused... one of the things tailscale touts is sharing nodes between accounts using the "Access Controls" and "Users" tabs in the tailscale admin console. I just couldn't get it working.
I'd like also add a request for the PFSense/Tailscale/Mullvad video. I never log into anything external if I can help it, but i did this time just for this request and to subscribe to your channel. I'd also like to know if/how there are ways to turn it off for individual devices. I don't always need the privacy VPN on for every device. Thanks.
Estoy contento con mi privacidad. Estoy triste porque desciende mi velocidad de 900mbs a 190. Ningún dispositivo pasa de esa velocidad cuando uso Mullvad y Tailscale

As a Swede myself, I really like Mullvad. Great video as always, keep up the good work.
2:30 +1 cause I am interested in seeing that Pfsense integration testing
YES PLEASE do the pfsense output to mullvad been trying to find how to do this for a second now
Is there a possibility to have PFSense route a specific vlan out Mullvad?

Where do you make those animated flow diagrams?
I just paid for Mullvad.. are you saying that I'm unable to get it to work because I should be buying the service through Tailscale?
glad i watched this video first. unlucky for you bro
Would love a Pfsense video.

Yes
Great video, thanks
Is there a way to use Tailscale to access a PC running Mullvad (from outside the network)?
does this also work with synology as exit node on tailscale? All my devices are connected to my synology as exit node. Sorry if this is noob question.

What kind of router are you using in this setup?
Can we use this to obviate the need for cloudflare for on premises hosting of public facing services?
no

Please do a tailscale PF sense setup video for noobs. Thanks!
I would really like to know if tailscale can work with Private Internet Access! How would this work I wonder?
not that I know of.
Now, can you run this as one of your VPN options for a Unifi UDM SE?
No, there is not any official Tailscale support built into the UDM

Sorry for this n00b question, but how is this different from just using the Mullvad VPN app directly?
Just the convenience of still having access to your tailscale nodes at the same. Also not needing a second app.

I don’t understand what tailscale is for. Why don’t you connect directly to the vpn without any intermediary?
Tailscale is an overlay network ua-cam.com/video/bcRVkoeSN0E/v-deo.htmlsi=0D80CZsjiM8Ouei-

The clunky menu to connect strangely looks like the OpenVPN menu when you right clic on it to connect to a standard OpenVPN connection.
Do you know if Mullvad is a good choice for VPN?
They are as good as many others.
@@LAWRENCESYSTEMS Thanks 👍
@@LAWRENCESYSTEMSthey are better.
Is this possible with NordVPN?
Not that I aware of
@@LAWRENCESYSTEMS dang its the vpn i have im not trying to have 2 vpns

It's a shame they removed the ability to port-forward... 😢
I think I missed the part where we learned how to set it up
There are guides in the video description for the full getting started with Tailscale.
