Sorry, but the judges didn’t even mention that he totally forgot a portion of the routine?? Vanessa literally had to talk him through a large section because he completely blanked. I know it’s the last routine, but that’s a big enough mistake to warrant a comment.
This is why Vanessa has made so many finals. She is such a good pro. When he forgot the routine, she kept him upright and moving across the ice. That could have been much worse than it was. Hats off to Vanessa and well done Joey.
This is absolutely not why. Other pros are just as good. She always gets young fit guys or dancers, who pick up learning new skills much easier than the older ones.
@@Cassie_2508 I never compared Vanessa to any of the other pros. I was talking about how she kept Joey upright and moving as forgot literally half the routine. That's impressive. She's allowed to have her flowers for that. I'm aware of her track history with the partners that are given to her. She's still a good pro. You can have a great skater as your partner and still not make it to the finals. Carly was miles better than Joey or the Vivienne, yet she didn't even make it to the semi-final. Vanessa and Joey worked hard this year. I would have preferred Carly and Mark in the finals, but I'm not going to drag Vanessa because she got Joey to the finals in spite of his questionable skills.
@@Cassie_2508 older people have won over younger skaters, look at James Jordan and Wes Nelson! Being young and fit doesn’t get you to the final, having an amazing coach and listening does!
Agreed. You could see Vanessa's mouth moving as if she was still instructing Joey throughout the performance. Whereas Nile and Olivia had the steps/moves memorized and performed it smoothly.
@@campbellphoenix7662 We should support them all because they ALL came so far from where they started and to be honest Joey would of given Nile a real run for his money if he had skated his routine cleaner as his bolero had better lifts and was closer to the original but the fact is that Niles skating was cleaner with no mistakes so unfortunately for Joey it was a no contest.
Joey won the Jump. He came runner up this series to only Nile. my favourite one runner up. he has improved, not overmarked or undermarked by the normal judging panel. they don't need to change it. focus on the skaters please. enough.
@@campbellphoenix7662 I was not about to say any such thing because Nile didn't steal the trophy. He won fair and square. Joey spaced out during his and Vanessa's performance of bolero, which was clear for all to see by their missteps and Vanessa clearly speaking to him throughout their performance. Whereas Nile and Olivia had a clean skating performance which was also evident for all to see. The votes were tallied by the people who were able to vote and Nile and Olivia came out the victors. Simple as that.
So Joey should of won because Nile is a retired gymnast? You do realise he was like bambi when he first stepped on the ice back in October just like the rest.
@@BensMiniToons I would say Nile still is a very competitive person with a high work effort but then again I expected Joey to win because of his higher fan base who I expected to vote for him regardless of who had the best routine or better skating.
Actually, as has been repeatedly remarked on by Nile, Olivia and their coaches throughout Nile and Olivia's practices/training sessions, they were at a disadvantage because of them being roughly the same size/height. It made for more challenges when it came to the lifts they needed to perform. Just because someone can more easily do gymnastics skills on gymnastics equipment doesn't mean it doesn't present other challenges when they are on ice, as was also demonstrated throughout their practice sessions. And as the other commenters remarked on. Even Olivia, professional skater that she is said after their street dancing performance that when they had to jump onto the ice she almost lost her balance. Not to mention their prop for prop week was a double bed in the middle of the ice. Couldn't have been easy for Nile to slide it across the ice at the end of the routine.
@@bethnichols2875 Yes plus the fact Nile has a permanent neck injury which is why i think they limited the amount of lifts he could do, Liv often took the male role in the routines. If Joey had excelled there was much more potential for him to wow the judges with lifts. Either way they both did well over the season, not sure why someone would take it so serious, it's a family show.
Hats off to Vanessa for keeping calm when he forgot the routine and guiding him, a very good pro

why do people take this so seriously. At the end of the day its just a bit of fun.

Joey did extremely well, Nile, was a winner from the start, he is an athlete after all. Good job to them all! 👏
They were both amazing
Sorry, but Nile and Olivia smashed that routine.

I’m afraid I had to disagree. Joey Essex is best in my books.

Poor joey I really felt for him my heart 💔 goes out to him ❤️ 😍 hope we c some more of him doing something else on TV 📺 take care 💞 joey
Shouldn't have made the final. Was the weakest of the 3. The vivene should have been doing that dance. Such a shame. Nike was a worthy winner 🏆 🥇 xx
Thank you for sharing!
I am sorry but that was no where near Nile and Olivia they flowed across the ice with the speed needed for that dance
brilliant

Vanessa's face says it all
first?
Nah second
In the finale 2 he came in last.
Joey Essex = below average intelligence, not funny, good looking / Miles Nazaire - high level intelligence, very funny, very good looking
And the winner is…Joey Essex! 🎉
In your mind perhaps, yet not in actuality. Nice try though.
