Maybe Tim going in HOF, would make sense. His 4 losses in UFC were all against other legends Mir, Couture, Arlovski, and Big Nog. Arlovski he got revenge in next fights and Big Nog was getting his butt whooped until he caught Tim in sub. Honorable mention to his domination in title fight with Jeff Monson. Tim Sylvia, Rich Franklin, Matt Hughes and a young Robbie Lawler. That Miletich team was unreal back in the day.
Can't forget Pulver he had the championship belt for the lightweight division on that gym wall.
TheSlowbosambo pulvers a really cool dude too.
Jeremy Horn was fighting out of there as well back then.
not to mention miletich himself and pulver.
I'm loving this "Legends" series. New fans who don't know the history of the sport deserve to know the OGs... Modern fighters stand on the shoulders of these giants.
I watched every fight he had in UFC. I was a fan and was wondering what ever happened to Tim. Glad he is doing well. Kids change us....
Good to see the UFC shine a little light on Tim. He was fun to watch and definitely a huge problem for other fighters of the time
Got a different prospective on him, didn’t care for him to much as a fighter, loved the Silva vs randy fight. Great job as a father
Perspective my dude
6:05. I actually cried when he won. Tears of joy. I was such a huge fan. I wanted so bad for him to come back from his suspension and prove to everyone even though he screwed up he was still a great fighter without the roids. I will always love and respect Tim Sylvia. Peace ✌️
I’m so happy for this man usually fighters can’t manage after retiring, he has found his balance

Good episode, make one about Rich Franklin
Make one about CM Punk
Rich actually after fighting changed his name to jim carry and started acting hes pretty successful now
I'm glad Tim is doing well today. A pioneer of the sport and someone who had us all watching.
Thanks Tim, for everything. You helped make the UFC HW division what it is today!
I hope you have a great day Tim!
Tim Silvia, I did enjoy your matches back in the day. I too have a son and he's a blessing that changed the way I saw things. I'd like too say just like you being a Father is the best gift you can ever receive. God bless you
I felt the same when you were born.
Thanks Dad. 😘
I never liked him while he was fighting. Seeing this changed my mind. Seems like a great guy
My thoughts exactly lol
most of them are.
you are a mark then
@hhhk20 The video editors/creators though cannot modify the way Sylvia spoke, expressed and conducted himself during the video. I think that was a huge factor that swayed him into liking the former fighter.
@hhhk20
You know someone is childish and cowardly when they use the anonymity of the internet to question someone's mental fortitude over a random comment on UA-cam
This "Where are they now" series is is absolutely great.
I got to meet him at a fight in Vegas right after he won the title for the first time … He took the time to meet every fan and took pictures. Really nice humble guy. I wish him nothing but the best.
Surprised to see this. I thought the UFC brass hated him.
III3 HH2 who are you talking to and about what man? Relax
That's cool the UFC took time to remember him, Tim was one of the main fighter's when i started watching on a regular basis, I don't recognize most fighters today.
Same here. Remember his trilogy with Andrei Arlovski? Shit was epic
Man god bless Tim Sylvia, had me tearing up when he mentioned how becoming a father changes a man.

@@luciuspl1140 that's true tho all dominant ufc champs were dominant until their kids came by they're never the same again

Glad that Tim is living a good life with a beautiful family. I wish they would do videos like this for all of the old champs that the new generation just doesn't know about. Dave Menne, Jens Pulver, Carlos Newton, Pat Miletich, Ricco Rodriguez, Maurice Smith, Evan Tanner, Murilo Bustemante, Sean Sherk ect.
Mikey Burnette beat Pat
A.J. Rusinek you know Evan Tanner has been dead for more than ten years. Not sure he would be a good subject for a show about where they are now?
@@horseman9582 I'm not saying they should do a where are they now with him, but more of a video documenting his whole career and showing respect to the mans legacy.
I wonder if they planning on putting him in the hof don’t mention him for years and out of nowhere in hof season there posting vids of him
biggie_lu3 Tito is in it
dana doesn't like him for some reason
Maybe Tim going in HOF, would make sense. His 4 losses in UFC were all against other legends Mir, Couture, Arlovski, and Big Nog. Arlovski he got revenge in next fights and Big Nog was getting his butt whooped until he caught Tim in sub. Honorable mention to his domination in title fight with Jeff Monson. Monson was on 16 fight win streak with 10 of the wins via submission. Sylvia neutralized his ground game when it went to the matts and Monson was helpless.
Also two time champ. Not many of those. Once you lose it you usually lose it. Only a handful of those in the history of the sport.
The champ champ thing Is a very real thing

Huge respect to him for being so honest about the ups and downs of his career.

Paul Clancy unsurprising. Guy won the belt in a time where the fighters were hardly paid peanuts, and then his decline started as the sport was coming out the dark ages. There wouldn’t be much to retire on.

9:10 the fact that he said "orange drink" shows that he grew up in humble circumstances.

Orange Juice is called "orange drink?" in Maine?

@@protojager While that is possible, that it was for breakfast makes me question if it was orange juice.I am aware some people do drink tang for breakfast.
It would be more a question for people from Maine but it could clearly be tang or something like.
I am not sure why that would matter. Yes, Tim grew up here in Maine just like me. They certainly weren't wealthy, and I am especially glad to see my old friend enjoying fatherhood. I know of no "orange drink" being a Maine thing and I'm 7th generation Maineiac. Either way, it's great to see Tim enjoying life.

Seems a real cool dude
Nothing against Tim but they brought Randy up to fight for the title after being KO'd by Chuck that's the problem and history of the HW division in the 2000's. All the talent was in Japan, they had 3 or 4 top guys but we saw how those top guys went when Arlovski and Tim himself fought Fedor, what was it about 3 or 4 minutes to finish both off. Christ Tim got his first title shot on a one-fight win streak LOL.
Anyway, I know Tim's had some down periods in his life, so good to see him doing well for himself.
On a side note, I didn't realise he thought Arlovski again in 2012 for the ONE Fighting Championship, ended in an NC, after Arlovski kicked him in the head and Tim couldn't continue.
