I like Nero this because it's not just straight dubstep. They have a blend of dubstep, electronic rock, some drum and bass and more that goes together perfectly.
My taste has totally changed in music but I just went on a spree to find everything I used to listen to. This still goes hardddddddd. Goosebumps unlocked

That fine vintage arcade machine is what gets me (cos I don't like wine, except for Prosecco/sweet wine, but I don't drink more than 50-100 mL/0.3 cups of any alcohol per year). :) I am too young to have lived through the 1980s-1990s arcade era, but went to my local arcade and played H2Overdrive and Street Fighter on the machines from 2021 to now. 15 bucks to enter, and all the games are free to play for as long as you want. One of the machines is nearly twenty years my senior.
@@thatguyalex2835 damn when I was in Tucson, AZ there was this street with just an open air arcade you could walk right into and pop a quarter in any machine and play. Never had to pay scratch to enter. Many of the machines were antiques from those eras you mentioned and some even rare. Definitely one of the more memorable places during that trip. Arcade machines rule!
Creative who worked on the video here, chipping in with a little 'how it was made' 13 years after this dropped. You may have already seen my comment on the 'Innocence' video, if not hop over there for a little backstory on that banger. This one started with a meeting in a wonderful old pub in Central London between Joe and Dan (Nero), myself and a developer. The idea for putting the band into a video game already existed but we weren't sure how to make it happen. The developer and I worked up a plan to create a working beat em up game with custom characters and backgrounds created by myself using original game assets as a base for customisation. The scenes with the game playing are screen recordings of me playing that bones game, all edited together with health bars and transitions added in post. The racing game section was a screen recording of an exisiting game into which I added a new custom bg, some custom Nero signs abd of course, the custom Nero car and HUD. All of this sits within an edited sequence of the band and the main character enjoying a lovely day out at the Brighton arcade. The game was playable online for a short while as part of the single launch canpaign but now I have no idea if it still exists anywhere. I was asked by Computer Arts magazine to create a tutorial on how to create pixel art characters as a result of the success of the song. I still have a copy stored safely away as a memory of this incredible project. Now, I think I'm going to go for a drive with the windows down and this tune blasting for the whole world to hear. Absolute banger!!!
Thank you for sharing your story, loved the creative nostalgic idea you did for the video that fitted well with this and as well as innocence. Sad to know it's been over a decade ago since I heard this tune playing in the clubs on the weekend.
I often go back to songs like this to remember simpler times, when all we used to argue about was whether or not dubstep was music. 2021 has been a crazy year indeed. *picks up pip-boy, straps it on, walks into the wasteland*
god nero does such a good job of invoking the feeling you're not just listening to music, you're experiencing it. all of their WR tracks feel so... eternal.
+BurnGT13 Nah, he's getting pretty big again with his new trap influences. His recent stuff I don't think are even that bad, way better than his previous stuff at least that got him mainstream.

This song itself is barely dubstep, but I was talking about Nero as a group.
