  • Separating the 5303, disassembling the clutch. This video is all done off the phone. Both Camtasia and cyberlink power director editing software will not upload to UA-cam. Both say that I have no internet connection when the connection is just fine. IDK?

As always Warren I enjoy watching your videos. The first clutch that is against the flywheel is the PTO clutch. Looks to me that they don’t use the PTO. The clutch you found deeper inside the pressure plate is in fact the traction clutch. I work for a John Deere dealership and have split many of these same tractors for a clutch job. Our standard practice is to replace the rear main seal regardless. I hope this helps. Thanks for all your hard work and sharing these videos. Your knowledge has helped me out as well.

Same setup as a small Massey (35/135/240), outer clutch is for the hydraulics & PTO, inner is the one that make the wheels spin.

I do many clutches on these tractors. They really do not last under hard work, constantly adjusting the PTO. I maintain a fleet of 20 series for orchard farming. I can almost do a clutch on a 5520 in my sleep!

might be like a New Holland i repaired, syncro gearbox compared to shuttle which has one clutch plate, it was a dual clutch, the inner one is the PTO clutch which was a normal fiber one, the drive plate outer one was ceramic, the ceramic clutches cannot be ridden its either in or out, the dealers replaced the clutch around 1500 hours but it was too tight so thus half engaged, it only went another 1500 hours, the owner told them it was grinding and he couldn't push the clutch pedal in as it was cable operated, it wore out the fingers as the bearing almost went through them, after machining, new fingers, bearings, bolts, ceramic clutch and the bellevue spring which is what you have the big round thing in the middle of the clutch unit, i found out the workshop manual was clearly wrong, i put the engine back in and took it back out when i realized the thrust bearings were not in the correct position on the shaft so i adjusted it as per what i suspected, put the tractor back together and the clutch worked perfectly, drove it all over the place used the FEL no problems I heard both sides of the story from the dealers mechanics and the farmer, my conclusion was the dealers mechanics just didn't know how to adjust a dual clutch and their story was complete bs, the farmers story of grinding was due to clutch being too tight from the day he bought the tractor from new.

The only problem with using those for YT videos is when the star rolls the camera around for the all important selfie, the screen goes white. But with Warren in charge, those constant selfies are few and far between. He doesn't start the day with "my hair" or any other "I'm a rock star" notions that pervade the ranks of far too many YT content providers. I don't have any videos and some say then I have no room to talk. Nonsense, I like what I like so I'll watch what I want to and everybody else can take a long walk on a short pier for all I care. Not that I'm antagonistic about it in any way either, suggestions posted would work out fine for this channel. Still of the opinion that the hat cam gives us the best of Warren's audio comments (some real gems there) and we can see what he sees and what he is pointing to as well. Hand held phone shows us a casting number when he's talking about exactly where to insert screws to pull a seal instead, but I already know that info - no big loss for me.

When the injector pump was changed out there was another missed opportunity. To get to the starter bolt in the back the injector pump has got to come out, dang. Ford 1967 3000 diesel. If anyone has any suggestions please sing out. The starter pinion gear only engages every 8th time you try to turn it over, misses the big gear and the starter motor winds up. Could be the solenoid not kicking the pinion gear forward enough maybe but I have no idea what the hell I am doing.

You know why they don't fix it where all the clutch dust will come out or where it can be serviced, they wouldn't get to sell someone a new clutch plus labor of putting it in. As far as your computer problems, blame the Russians.

IT WAS BUILT ON MONDAY . … I work on a farm that bought a new 1486 in 1980 . we went to the field and the tractor made it 100 feet before the chuck went up in smoke , the dealer came and adj.it. it did not move . It was loaded on truck took to shop and new chuck put in , we brought the tractor back to the field , putting it on same equip. in made it 300 feet before the chuck went up in smoke the 2 th time .3 chuckes in 1 week .. THE FLY WHEEL HAD NEVER BEEN TURNED FROM THE FACTORY , the dealer ship did not check or replace it, IT LOOK LIKE THE PRECER PLATS HAD NOT BEEN TURNED FROM FRACTORY. IT WAS TRACE TO THE FRACTORY AND IT WAS MADE ON MONDAY..
