I have a 2013 ATS 3.6L and Love It and I'm 6'2 245. Seats fit like a glove and I am still in awe at the power in this little sedan. Blows away BMW's in my book which have no bells and whistles, coolest thing in them is a slide out cup holder from the passender's side of the dash. No thanks!
I drove this car as well and it really is one of the first cadillacs i could see myself driving every day. It is a lot of fun. I agree!
Since the mid '90s GM has figured out "fun to drive" in just about everything they make. And, it's only been getting better.
Cadillac has done a couple updates on CUE. Commands have gotten more responsive. CUE does have a hard drive, it is not available for music storage. The multiple USB plug in's are for music storage on a memory drive. The CUE system is a great upgrade from the current navigation system in the CTS. Once you get it figured out it is a dream.
The sluggish response of the CUE to voice commands made me highly appreciate my own Mercedes-Benz COMAND system. I recall the Audi MMI I've tested reacted faster than this.
But overall, this is the first Cadillac I wouldn't mind owning, as it is a good car aside of the buggy CUE.
2014 CUE has had drastic software updates and reviews.
When i brought mine im 5"9 250 it felt kinda tight but i was comfortable getting in and out is a bit of a struggle other than that SUPERB 😊🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
Thx, Mike. Not sure about the Verano. It all depends on what's in the fleet. I have cars booked through February. Not sure what I'll be doing after that.
What exactly did the upcoming Mercedes-Benz CLA have to do with anything? You guys are always throwing shade at American cars just for the sake of it. As far as the "oversized" emblem, did u take a look at the ones on Mercedes these days?
Yeah, the Mercedes ones are hideous. So much for German subtlety...
nice review, i suspect the mic is sensitive, but it`s hard to gauge on the tube, it sounded a little noisy in the cockpit, is that how you found it Dan?
Nonsense, That Gauge Cluster is FANTASTIC!
Another homerun review. No stone left unturned. That was shocking to see how slow the CUE system is. Any chance of getting a turbocharged Buick Verano?
Completely agree, this is brand new model, and they have gauges look like they are from a Caddy from 10 years ago.
It didn't seem that loud IRL. The audio in that section is from an internal camera mic. I think it was a Contour. :/ Never a good thing to grab audio with those, but that's all I had on hand.
One of these days, I'll pick up a dedicated audio recorder ...
I sat in this car and then sat in a 3 series, to my extreme surprise the Cadillac felt much nicer and better put together. Can't say for sure it's better on the whole since I have not driven either of them.
Seems like the delay between voice prompts is really longer than it should be.
Love the videos by the way. Keep it up
I stick by my previous stance that GM needle sweeps at startup are horrendously slow. It was the main reason I didn't even consider driving a manual Buick Regal. (I drove the auto and technically loved it) I guess I'm too much of an impatient person.
Are those Prescription sunglasses? Do polarization help with driving when the sun is out and extremely bright? Why don't you wear your glasses all the time?
Yeesh. The massive delay in voice command response, and the touch screen lag would have me looking elsewhere immediately. I think I would either jump out of the car or arrive at my destination before it carried out my request. The latter seems more likely.
it looks like a great car only one problem though, it takes so long to respond to a voice command
That's your opinion... Personally, I LOVE IT!
I had to think for a minute about the "Jack" comment that made me chortle a bit. The Eric Burton song kinda belies your age a bit!! I know because I remember that song too!
Wow this car is beautiful
That's the EPA rating. But when mpgomatic reviewed the thing, even with AWD he got better than 30mpg on the highway.
Very cool review.
Very nice car. I like it!
I think that you could by tiny bit more enthusiastic, more happy.
But it's just my opinion.
Nice review. Keep them up.
Is this one with the LSD and upgraded cooling system?
they used a good camera
I think that seat feature is weird. depart to left and left cheek vibrates and vice versa. whats next?
Yea the analog part of the gauge cluster is nasty and outdated.... Nice car but the MPG numbers are behind the curve for all the fuel saving tech being used
Limited Slip Diff, yep. Not sure about the cooling system. It's 7:12 AM and I haven't finished my first cup of coffee ... =)
Gr8 review
Just my Opinion, but I Love That Gauge Cluster...
i dont see why not. the lincoln mkz or s or whatever it is has a 365hp ecoboost motor in it
Your conversation with the car sounds just like my conversation with the voice message service when I called the IRS last year, even same lady who misunderstood what I said. GM probably hitched onto the IRS contract, could because both were part of the govt.
I'm looking forward to the day (ever the optimist) ... =)
Yep, now that you mention it ... the beard and Hawaiian shirt didn't help. ;)
With your hat and sunglasses you look like Boyd Coddington
Yep, NA. It would be wicked if the ATS-V was a twin-turbo V6 ... =)
Wow, those voice commands would definitely be more useful if Cadillac used a faster processor!
I agree.
"play song"...wait for it...wait for it...
But who really used voice commands? I feel like that was a cool gimmick when it first came out, not very practical and who likes talking to their car? I'd rather have buttons and intuitive menus.
The menus are TOTALLY intuitive .Buttons are so old fashioned in these days of swiping and pinching .
The gauges look like absolute crap for any car being sold in 2013, not to mention one in this price segment. It sounds like the CUE system is mind numbingly slow too.
5.7L Charger is 16/25
looks like my 1992 S10 pickup
My previous comment about the MB CLA was in reference to these two cars not being in the same class. THE CLA IS A FWD BASED SEDAN. ATS NOT. Get your life together.
nice car other than the POS infotainment center
Wow, so this car burns more fuel than a 5.7L Charger? Ouch.
When GM redesigns their 3.6L V6; they should include cylinder deactivation like they have with the new Chevy LT1 6.2L V8 as the 3.6L V6 can drop to being a 2.4L V4 which should help improve fuel mileage. GM needs to either hire Apple to design and build a voice control system for them or abandon it and go with something similar to BMW or Mercedes Benz.
seriously the only bad thing about this car is the awful gauge cluster it looks so ancient, i mean seriously cheap strippo cars have better looking gauge clusters then this car
I wish there was V8 option :\
The CUE is super slow...
I really wish the gauges weren't so plastic and cheap looking.
agreed. ruins the whole car
Wow, that voice control is a purely cheap version of Sync.
How come europeans still produce 8 cylinder cars. For years they depsised Americans for they prdocued 8 cylinder cars. They really disgust me with this double standrded practices. They want to dominate the technology and luxury market instead of coming up with better products they badmoutht he competition. Why Audi Mercedes even VW building 8, 10 even 12 cylinder cars. They pretend to be the environmentalists. And they bad mouth this beautiful Caddy with V6 and does everything a V8 does.
This is still a Cadillac. Unless there's a V badge it's still a gramps car, no matter how much power it makes.
Cue is so slow!
:)
