Marvin's solo was linear for the most part with the general frequency of the background sound and he was within the proper scale. It seems Carly, was infact in conversation with Tyrone Downie on keyboard who a second earlier at 4:04 struck a piercing note at a frequency above all other notes. Carly, instinctively reacted and replied with that beautiful rhythmic shuffle. And the fluidity of his drum strikes weaved in seamlessly with Marvin's hypnotic solo. A masterclass of musical conversation from one of the greatest bands ever. Rip Carlton Carly Barrett. The master drummer!
