Just want to say thank you for this video. After listening to your comments on the DRIVE G LITE I tried one and found it a real game changer. I am 69 yrs and play senior doubles four times a week in retirement in Spain. I have been searching for a lite racquet that allowed me to play proper shots. As you say in the video this racquet is a lite racquet that does not play like a lite racquet, at an amazing price.....THANK YOU.
I would like to hear your thoughts on varying string tension between mains and crosses, some people/pros have mains 2lbs tighter for instance when using the same string as an example. Does it make a difference in terms of spin? Tension maintenance? (I figure the mains do the majority of the work and thus more likely to drop tension faster)
I bought a Head Radical S. Even with lead tape added, I just could not compete with it. To compensate for its overall lightness, I had to take a longer and faster swing which made it more difficult to time the ball. The frame was not that stiff but still felt crisp to me. I added some lead tape to the 3 and 9 o'clock positions on the head and the improvement was negligible. Racquet manufacturers have been pushing lighter and stiffer racquets for a while now. They are unforgiving and are hard on your elbow. Also, they are more prone to twisting in your hand resulting in a loss of power - especially on volleys. A heavier racquet absorbs more shock and a flexible frame will give you more control. That's what works for me. I used to work at Paragon Sporting Goods in the tennis department. I just can't recommend these light and stiff frames. It's better to think long-term. Buy a racquet that is at least 11 ounces strung. By playing with it you will develop the strength to maneuver it better over time. Why buy a light frame you will quickly outgrow and that is a risk to arm injury?
I love the Pro Staff L. I have been playing with it for the past several years and recently bought the 2020 version. Lighter racquets allows me to run and hit easily all over the court and I can whip my serve with tremendous speed. At 54, I am not as strong as fast as I was in my 20's so a lighter racquet is the perfect stick for an "old" man trying to keep up with stronger, faster and younger players. The Blade 98 L and the Pure Drive L are also great light sticks. Great video.
I read somewhere that the Drive G series is basically a Pro Drive without a sponsor, so Babolat’s able to charge 25% less. I just bought a couple of the regular Drive G’s on close out for a ridiculous $89 each. We’ll see how they play.
Hi Brett. I'm thinking about getting the regular Drive G. If the lite's good, the regular might be great aswell with a little bit more power because of its weight. What are your first impressions of it?
I think it works the other way around shock wise. :) Power wise, light racquets have their weight in the head mostly to give them some power and stability...other wise they would be hard to make shots with for kids. If they would have the same weight but being headlight, they could have little power. Add loose syn gut, and it has power for kids and new players. The shock I think works opposite of what you said. The more weight in the handle, the more the recoil weight increases. The less recoil shock is transmitted to the handle and players wrist. Think Head IG Prestige MP, 12oz strung, 310 sw. Little power, plenty of control, weight and flex make it comfortable. So if most height is on the head, more shock transmits to the handle and wrist. My thoughts :)
I have a Pure Drive Lite. My only issue was truly high pace balls or heavy kick serves. Otherwise I agree, it is extremely good for a light frame. I switched to the Head Boom Pro this year, but I’m keeping ol’ babs out of respect.
Why should I get with my Wilson Pro Staff RF97 Autograph elbow problems because most of the weight is in de handle ( 317mm balancepoint ) Proper technique and strings prevent elbow problems
Mr Tennis Racket, thanks for sharing your knowledge and thought! I have this racket and I’ve used it for about 6 months and I feel like I’m always having to adjust the strings on it, like after every 15/20 hits , is this common? Or should I look into getting it restrung? Thanks.
You have recommend two raquets in separate reviews. The new Yonex Astrel 100 and in this review the pre strung Babolat Drive G Lite which of the two would you recommend?
Kind of surprised the Babolat PureDrive Lite didn't make your list. That said been playing with one a year, like it for serves and groundstrokes, but not at the net. Can you suggest an alternate. Started back at 55, played with a now heavy Yamaha fiberglass in highschool.
Barry, you should look on ebay for a Dunlop super revelation midplus but not the purple and silver model. The green black Dunlop super revelation strung at 75lbs and lead taped on the sides is the closest place to heaven that you can get. Happy hunting!
I am struggling with golfer’s elbow for two years now. First serve is causing injuries. Doc says I should try a lighter racquet. But I don’t want to comprimise on hitting deep steady balls with pace. Any suggestions? I am a 5.0 skill level and I an adult male. Currently playing with a Wilson Blade 98 16X19
The boost aero was my transition raquet, and in opinion it can really ok, but you're not going to get much help in terms of power. That being said, I've had the most drop shit winners with that raquet (including some that bounced back into the net after going over).
Love your channel, a lot of knowledge and experience is shared with with us. Thank you. Is Clash 100UL good as transition racquet for 12 yo girl? Looking forward on more youth gear videos.
Awesome review! I was looking for a transition junior to adult racquet for my son age 13 and was looking at the babolat pure drive lite racquet however was unsure so I did my research and watched lots of review videos. I was hoping your number one pick was the babolat racquet. 😃
@@sandrak6855 I think it looks almost the same as the Babolat Boost D, which is what they call it in certain countries. We don't get the Drive G here, but we do the Boost D and the Pure Drive Lite, but last year's Boost D is on discount for under 90 US dollars here in Taiwan.
What do you think of the Wilson Clash 100L? Been playing with it for awhile. Have it strung with Solinco HyperG on the mains & Solinco Vanquish on the crosses. Strung low. Lots of power.
There are 2 target groups for real lites with an oversized head size: - seniors with reduced power in their upper body and arms (male and female) - real first time beginners who have no experience at all whatsoever. And such a beginner could grow out of those super lites within a few months. The use of those super lites is to prevent injury as the technique and or head Speed is so low that holding anything more heavy in your hand actually could hurt them. As soon as you have some technique and you have enough upper body and arm strength and are older than 12 years old you should stay away from those super lites as they hurt your technique more. Then the rule becomes to always use the heaviest stick you can handle. And people can handle more than they think. A heavier racket gives you more stability, less vibration and helps you to use the right technique.

My wife loves the drive g lite also. It’s a true gem. I never thought someone else will find this.

I would really appreciate if you could do Pro Staff Family review (RF, 97CV, 97, 97L etc.). And also which player they fit to. Thanks

5:59 is the racket I use. I highly recommend it, it has lots of power and control.🔥🎾
Whats your NTRP level pls... Are you able to return heavy balls or heavy hitters with reasonable consistency and power
No mention of any of the Yonex lites? Ezone 98L? Surprising.

@@Roberto_SS Really love the racket! Go for it.
I would like to hear a review about the 130sq in "bubba" you mentioned in the beginning.
I hate light racquets but I still watched lol
Same here
please make an update on best light rackets

Yonex Ezone DR 98 LG
Kind of surprised the Clash 100 UL is not on this list. Would love to hear your thoughts as to why not.

I love the Speed litebut yesterday I realised this pink prince sharapova racket is heavier than mine, its not even full size 😵
What racquet would have Andre the giant used he played tennis?
His hands.
Light seems less powerful. Would lowering string tension increase power?
Great recommendations my boy 11 plays with the speed and my daughter also 11 with the G lite👍🏼

Drive G it is for my two kids... thank you.
I love that aero
wow the number of Clash on the wall!

Can you please give your opinion on Wilson Ultra 100 countervail ver 2? Is this better than Babolat Pure Drive for me at 3.5 to 4.0 level of play?
I thought the Yonex Astrel 100 would be amongst these frames
I've been surprised by many light racquet.
I remember an old Wilson red and black for kids. I was shocked how I crushed the ball.
Hey mang wut u think about using element string at 46 on the wilson clash

hi there, how how does the babolat boost series compare to these rackets
great video keep the amazing work up

@Tyler Rafferty thanks for the comment that really helped
I love My Head Graphene 360 speed mp
do you ship your products? i'd like to support the business and purchase the babolat drive lite from you
Hi. Can I ask if Babolat Drive G Lite and Babolat BOOST drive is almost the same? Thank you @tennis Spin
The boost comes slightly heavier but same build quality .
Why not wilson Triad xp3
You said a light racket that is head light will cause elbow issues. Wouldn’t the Clash 100 fall in this category?

Is this racquet different to the Babolat pure drive lite? The drive g not available in Australia.

@Tennis Spin can u talk about the material? ... to know what kind of racket i want to buy. thanks
Does the Babolat Drive G hold up against heavy balls on NTRP 4.5 level ?
Do you know when the 2021 Pure Drive Lites are going to be released?
What do you think of the Wilson Clash 100L? Been playing with it for awhile. Have it strung with Solinco HyperG on the mains & Solinco Vanquish on the crosses. Strung low. Lots of power.
Still like it?
Do try Head Titanium Ti.S6. Its HH and weights only 7.9oz (unstrung).
My wife is looking for tennis shoes but has bunions. What shoe would be best? I would like to buy from you. Thank You!
What do you think about the Head Instinct S?
Where would you place the Head G360 Extreme lite ?
What do you think about the ultra team?
What’s the difference between the pro staff 97L and pro staff team?
What do you think of Wilson Burn 100ULS?
Dunlop super revelation green and black puts all these rackets to shame.
You have a video on lead tape?
TOP 5 SPIN
I use aero n
This looks like High Point Tennis Center lol
Wilson Steam 99LS (lite) anyone ?
You are missing #1 best light racket of all time - Head TI S6
His opinion is that it’s not a good racquet to learn. It’s too powerful. So kids won’t learn the technique properly
Babalot g drive light is shit. It’s very light but the vibration feel in that is bad. Try Volkl Team speed. It’s a lot more comfy. Kids like it.
Light rackets is just marketing fluff
I dunno why anyone uses lites
. Heavier is easier for noobs..
