Vanessa is my favorite designer! I began quilting a few years ago and I adore her works. From fabric design to quilt patterns, she always makes quilting a joy to me. I always get so many compliments on my finished quilts and I always tell people about her beautiful designs.
I was so bored with quitting for a few years but saw Old Glory collection and a few patterns and fell in love all over again with quilting.😊
I enjoyed this video in March. Vanessa is wonderful. Thanks for interviewing her and displays of quilts and fabric.

I love, love both Vanessa’s designs and fabric!! I am always drawn to them when I see new fabrics come out. I also love the fact that she changes up her color ways. It seems many designers keep coming out with the same colors over and over, just changing the designs on them. I don’t want to keep making the same color quilts over and over, so I appreciate the change of color ways from Vanessa! I so enjoyed this video!

What a lovely catch-up. I'm new to quilting, and it's really helpful to find new designs. I definitely need to make some of Lella Boutique quilts. Sadly, living in the UK can make it an expensive purchase, but I see some are PDF, so an equal opportunity to buy at a good price . I really enjoy watching Kimberly and have many things in my head to remember.Starching is definitely something I will be doing . Thank you ❤

My absolute favorite Lella Boutique fabric line is “Gooseberry”!!! After that it is a toss-up between “Sugar Pie”, “Olive’s Flower Market”, and “Smoke & Rust”…. But I also love “Nest” and “Lollipop”…. Wait…hold on… let me look at my stash again…….😂😂😂

Vanessa is my favorite designer of all time. When I first started quilting Nest was leaving shops and I couldn’t get precuts… I bought a F8 bundle on Etsy and have every other line since then… with “planned” projects for each… I bought all Christmas Eve patterns before the fabric came out and bought Christmas morning remnants to start the quilts! 😊 Thank you!!

I am using the Christmas Eve collection for the mystery Evergreen sew along.
LOVED today's show. I never really paid attention to designers of fabrics lines....I just knew what appealed to me and what I liked. Over time I realized I was able to recognize her style and bought so many Lella fabrics. Vanessa has become my all time favorite designer. I have never bought a full line FQ bundle...Old Glory will be my first. I'm chomping at the bit to get my hands on it. I appreciate her identifying solids that match too. Bravo Vanessa!!!

This was a great trunk show! Sorry I missed the live. I do love her patterns and fabric. Not totally unrelated, but I would love to know the color of the paint Vanessa has on the accent wall of her sewing room. It's a perfect shade of grey and grey paints can be funny. TIA 💙

I would love to see a brother collection to Smoke and Rust. I make charity lap quilts for men in a local memory care center and it’s not always easy finding fabrics for men. Smoke and Rust was one of my favorite collections.
I made the rose in bloom and the fabric adorable. Made square quilt for my granddaughter and my cousin made lone star out of that fabric. Beautiful

I have had the same delicate about a quilt for the men in my family. What I have come up with is plaids or plaid flannel or denim. There are also things like fish fabric, deer or hunting, golf and other sports in fabrics. Hope these suggestions help.
Folktale is my very favorite made my son buy the fat qrtr bundle and just made it up for his wedding in Oct

This was a great interview.
It was delightful seeing Vanessa's trunk show. The first collection of hers I used was just last year with the Christmas Morning group, and I love her design aesthetic and color palettes. So fresh and modern. My niece is adopting her first foster child, a girl. I believe I have to make her the butterfly quilt - what a symbol for what that little girl has gone through. And Old Glory! Wow! Hope FQS is ordering lots and lots of that group. You guys don't know the Old Glory story? Old Glory is displayed in the Smithsonian. It was made for William Driver by his mother and some "young ladies" from his town as a gift for his 21st birthday. He became a ship captain and flew that flag all over the globe. He referred to it as Old Glory and the name stuck. When the Civil War began Driver was married and living in Nashville. He displayed the flag in the yard of his home, so he took it down. His daughter stitched it inside a quilt as a way of hiding it through the war years. A descendent gave it to the Smithsonian.
