Giselle

Originally premiered by Northern Ballet Theatre - as Northern Ballet was known in 1997 - Michael Pink’s production of Giselle fast tracks the 19th century storyline a hundred years and places the action in a ghetto in a war-torn country. The production has just been re-staged by the Estonian National Ballet in Tallinn. DANCE EUROPE spoke with artistic director Linnar Looris and asked three of the leading dancers, portraying Giselle, Albrecht and Hilarion, to share their thoughts on the roles they portray.
