Him being more comfortable with his sexuality and who he is in the world has also made him more stylish and comfortable with that expression of himself too. He's no longer afraid to express that he cares for aesthethic ("I like how the gold chairs catch the light" "your stole this ugly piece of shit?") Which I'm sure in the past he wouldn't be comfortable showing that he cares about that kind of stuff because unfortunetly those things still consider as "femenine" for some people. I love it when clothes complement the story arch.
In a way, I would argue that Ian regressed during S5 and after. I don’t like how the writers attribute it to his bipolar disease. The writers tried to make it like Mickey was triggering his bipolar outbursts when in fact Mickey was solid as rock for Ian trying to help him through his disease. It’s all in the past now I guess...but still it was a bumpy ass ride.

The scene in seasons five at 1:48 when I watched it a few years ago I didn't quite understand ian how could he let someone he loved so much and somebody who cared so much for him go. 5 years later when I saw that scene where he's like "are you crazy" I understand him so well having similar issues as him and having a boyfriend it's hard. It's hard to believe somebody who isn't supposed to (family) would love you that much, that somebody would chose your crazy ass over everything else. And sometimes I'm afraid my mental health which isn't that great takes a toll on my boyfriend and even tho he reassures me over and over again sometimes that one thought that I do not deserve him won't leave me alone the thought that I am holding him back or something. So yeah I completely understand ian and seeing them ending up together loving each other seeing how much mickey loves him and would do anything for him no matter how "crazy" ian is gives me a lot of hope that everything is and will be okay

I’m single now but everytime I get close to someone I kinda stop myself because I always feel like if I let someone see all of me they would run away eventually because I always believed even I can’t deal with my baggage why and how would someone else? I think these two are my favorite t.v. couple ever. They have grown so so much, together and individually. They are becoming who they really are and helping one another in doing so. You can see how much they love each other, even when they are fighting. This is the kind of love I like to see in television. The kind that grows and blossoms over time and shows how much love someone can give to someone else. This is the kind of love I want to have. 🖤
