Bc Ian/Harry are the youngest of the two, have green eyes, a lot more soft around the edges and are more liberated about who they are and then Mickey/ Louis are the oldest ones, both have blue eyes, rough around the edges ( WHICH IS UNDERSTANDABLE ), are VERY closed to be who they want to and the whole having a baby to look straight.

They first started officially being a couple in season 4 though (even though they had sex since season 1) and then stopped shortly before Mickey went to prison for trying to kill Ian's sister in the finally of Season 5, also there is no way of knowing how much Mickey really knew about Ian before season 1 (probably not much other then how he looked), so 2 years of dating (6 years of knowing each other intimately aka having sex) before getting married.
They are for sure my most favorite couple from a TV-show and u know why? They have so much dynamic in their relationship, they have their sweet moments but they also beat the shit out of eachother, which makes them fucking great. Although Mickey is pretty much a „bottom“ ( at least in this relationship), he doesn’t have that „typical bottom“ energy and same thing about Ian (other way around) imho. They are somehow both „equal“ in their relationship. That is not a typical sub dom relationship (unless maybe in sex), but they‘re Ian and Mickey. There are moments where Ian pins Mickey at the wall but also other way around and that‘s what I love about them, because you never know what happens next.
The chemistry and dynamic between the characters and actors is too good shame we won't get to see more never saw a gay couple with this much fun to it. Wish we'd get a spinoff shameless had the best balance between serious fucked up shit, family and humour
