Thanks Dyson for the UA-cam on emptying the bin - I am a visual person so once I saw how it was done - it was easy from there 👍 I have my old 2018 V7 Animal operating still which is lighter for me with dusting as I have a bit of arthritis in my hand however the straight forward power button is very much appreciated in the Dyson Gen5detec. Thank you.
I have just gotten the gen5detect. It's my first dyson vacuum ever. I used to balk at using them due to the price. I thought there was no way on earth a vacuum could be so different than any other vacuum. They suck dirt, for goodness sake. Come on, people wake up!. How i am among the converted now. I have used it 3 or 4 times in the last 2 days. I have charged it 4 times. As of now, it is not holding charge for long, but i know for certain it's been taking a ton of juice to suck up under furniture, behind furniture, etc. And the amount of dust and particulate coming out everywhere, and the spots i have aleays vacuum every time, wow!. I still thought it may be gimmicky, then i emptied it. Game changer. The amount of stuff, the fineness of the dirt, it was like baby powder. And i don't buy baby powder. The hepa filters are top-notch also. Myself and my son have allergies that are terrible. Truly debilitating when a cascade starts. It is worth every penny. Easy to use. I have been jonesing to get home and vacuum. I know, ridiculous, right? But yeah, I love it. I will be getting a second battery and charger. And a backup up purple hepa filter. Seems smart. Thank you!

Hey Dyson! When i cleaned out my gen5detect it’s become hard to open the vacuum from the first red tab, and it requires more strength to the point where im worried the vacuum will break! Have I don’t something wrong?

Hey, had a question about how to clean the machine it self as some dust as sticked to it, i did take a microfiber cloth lint free to wipe it all off and even the silver grill ive sometimes used a brush to clear the airpath with it having micro holes. Is there a better way to clean for optimal cleaning performance overtime?
It's normal for fine dust particles to cling within the machine due to static generated in use. This won't impact performance, but using a dry cloth or a soft brush to help remove this periodically is fine to do! As long as the filter is washed and air dried at least once a month, and the machine is kept free of any obstructions, it should continue to work effectively for you over time.

Stay away from these vacuum cleaners. No power and a head ache to reassemble when you empty the bucket. Maybe the very worse equipment I've ever used and WAY OVER PRICED.
Have to agree 100% on them being ridiculously overpriced. Also, theres a mythology that the sales/marketing people have developed that these things are easy to use. They aren't if youve got a cat, a dog and/or kids. The well dressed ladies who vacuum already clean floors and just hang up their dyson, easy peasy, is a joke. I've used 5 different dyson stick models and not one of them is easy. There is an athletic struggle with every one of the damned things to press the red button and remove the stick. The stick is *never* easy to separate from the vacuum. Then, horror of horrors, if you have vacuumed fur, actual dirt and carpet fibres, you need to clean the barrel of the cleaner before it gets hung up. It's definitely not an easy machine to use, mostly because it's so difficult to separate stick and vacuum. I won't make the mistake of buying another, thats for sure!
