I put 2.4 Forekasters front and rear on my bike and I’m really liking them. Only minor difference is that I went with dual compound on the rear and 3C Max Terra on the front. Part tire, part luck and probably part skill, but I cleaned a techy climb on them that I had never done in my previous 7 years of riding.
That sounds like a great combo! I think I'd really like moving this Forekaster to the front and running a dual compound one out back so I can get a little more loose. The 3C Max Terra is grippier than I hoped for actually haha Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching! 🤙
I'll have to give these Forekasters a whirl. For over 10 years my favorite combo is a ardent on the rear and aggressor up front. Fast rolling and grippy for days. Nice upload dude, looks like your really enjoying yourself.
I run v1 maxxis forekasters on my hardtail and full suspension bikes, they are the best fast rolling tyres with the most grip for XC/trail riding, I even run them in the wet and in winter front and back.
Great video Nick and Katie. I'm always looking for a solid tire and you did a good job illustrating the strengths. Loving the footage of Rocky Ridge too. Side note, glad to see you making videos again. Sage
Thanks Sage! The test ride at Rocky Ridge was definitely my favorite part of making this one. We're stoked to be back on YT with some new content! Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching man!
My favorite tire comb on my Stumpy Evo is the 2.6 Rekon front and 2.4 Rekon rear, both 60tpi, DC(dual compound). Rolls fast, hooks up well, very durable, affordable.
@@NickandKatieMTB I tried 2.4 Rekon front and rear but the front didn't have enough grip. Going to the 2.6 front added just enough extra grip and flotation to give the ideal performance. I also tried 2.6 Rekon front and rear but that combo felt slow rolling.
@@marksandoval5361 that makes sense. It’s crazy how many factors play a part. That’s why I continue running Maxxis. Really trying to figure out their tire line before jumping around. Takes a lot of dialing in to find something that works optimally!

Hi, thanks for the video. I’m actually use the rekon rear and dissector on front. The rolling resistance of rekon is good, but I think that had some problems in traction. What do you think of comparison of rolling resistance between forekaster 2 and rekon?
Hi! Thanks for watching! I'd say the Forekaster is going to have more traction than the Rekon but it's at the cost of a bit of rolling speed. The side knobs on the Forekaster are noticeably more aggressive than the ones on the Rekon but so are the center knobs. Hope this helps!
I bought these about 3 weeks ago for my front and back wheels. I busted the rear wheel a week ago. I don't really like them cos they're not really suitable for the terrain I'm riding...they kinda suck in damp/wet terrain. They're really good in dry conditions though.
