I've always thought it would be too perfect for the Beatles to play at Woodstock, which was one month before the release of Abbey Road.
So it went: Moon Landing, Woodstock, Abbey Road release all within a 90 day period.

John said Abbey road wasn't the most honest album the Beatles made. Particularly the side two medley which he called unfinished songs snitched together by George Martin and Paul to make it sound better than it was. He and George were also embarrassed with Paul's "Maxwells silver hammer" Saying that there are still good songs on the album Johns "Come together" and Georges two songs.

The best thing about Abbey Road is the iconic sleeve design. Apart from Come Together I’ve always found the record itself quite depressing… I think the tensions, differences & bad vibes the Beatles were experiencing actually bled through to the recording itself.

I think you have this album mixed up with Let It Be. Abbey Road is a MASTERPIECE. They got back to their senses and actually worked hard on the songs and together. Yes there was still tension but mainly put to the side. The only song that caused problems was Maxwells Silver Hammer. It went on to be #1 and the rerelease in 2019 also went to #1.

@@kenscholfield5936 ‘Mean Mr Mustard’, ‘Polythene Pam’, ‘Her Majesty’?! Oh come on… no way is that album a masterpiece, far from it. For me ‘peak Beatles’ was Sgt Peppers, nothing they did after that really interested me that much… including the White Album.
