As an American I watched several episodes all the way back in the early 80s here ,but then it got lost in the Shuffle. It wasn't until they came on UA-cam several years ago that I was able to pick up on it again and watch the entire series. I feel honored that now I can say I watched all 692 episodes and then some. great actresses. I did manage to contact Jane Clifton for a while. but now that her book is out she's no longer available as she used to be but I consider that one of my high spots.
Yep. My old & very ancient stepdad Sid & me aged mid 20s bonded watching Prisoner as much as watching Match of the Day. It wasn’t due to us enjoying the suffering of women behind bars but the grittyness & balls of the girls in the show battling Fletch the bastard & Co authorities was entertaining beyond Coronation Street or Eastenders 🐢👍
Val I'm a big fan of yours I love prisoner I have most of them saved on my phone you are an amazing actress and beautiful human being I love your accent I have a country accent and don't know how I got it I'm from Columbus ohio but you will always be top dog to me love you Val god bless you and thanks for so many great memories
Val lehman could have been a grand star in the USA. She had a large range of emotions she could play. Sad, angry, hard, soft and more...she was more brilliant than more well known actresses. But she had a legacy in many countries due to prisoner cell block h plus wentworth sent the younger audience looking for prisoner cell block h.
I love the character of Bea and I respect Val Lehman as an actress she is an amazing gifted actress who sadly never got the chance to show how versatile she could be, But Val as a person I don't respect she is a very arrogant and dismissive with a high opinion of herself iv seen her on talk shows being extremely rude and making it obvious she doesn't want to be on the talk show only for the money im guessing due to this she didn't get the work she expected which is a shame as she has endless talent, She is nice in this interview thou.
Steve Edwards Aww to Pete McTighe, the interviewer. He is a cutie, so I'll excuse him for anything that he may have missed to talk about. Hehe. ☺ Pete McTighe has written for the Aussie soaps and a British one, EastEnders. 😊
I laughed when she started talking about the new comedy show she was doing, and he looked deadpan at her like "what the hell are you talking about that for" and went back to asking about Prisoner.

val thank you
The interviewer looks like he's talking to a wall.
He probably is. It looks like he filmed his questioning portion separately from Val Lehman's answer section.
Only one Top Dog; Bea Smith!!!!!!
Legend
That guy is cute
Ok i can barely hear her but the guy i hear clearly wtf
Ironic that Bea Smith a much nicer person than Val lehman
LOL why?

That interviewer look Irish.
He is not Irish!
Millions of Australians are descendants of Irish
She should of left and than came back a year later
Actually I don't think she should've. She wanted to move on, and prisoner needed to move on to make way for new characters to take centre stage.
She was asked to return three times. After they failed to get her to come back for the third time they killed Bea off.
This interviewer is hopeless and far too rehearsed. The bloke never followed up any of Val's responses to his initial questions.
