I installed this lock today. Love the way it looks. And you don't HAVE to drill the extra hole. I have two complaints though. 1. It's having a lot of issues with Bluetooth connectivity. Could be the app or my phone, who knows but it's very annoying. 2. It doesn't have auto UNlock when you walk up to your door with hands full like some others do.
I just installed this lock today and did not put the extra upper bolt in. Is this just needed for extra clamping force on the top? Probably to seal the gasket more I imagine. I guess time will tell if this will be a problem!
I installed without drilling the hole. I did put a screw through that hole on the back plate. In my opinion, the mounting screws could have been a tad longer. I'll be monitoring it to make sure the various mounting screws aren't loosening over time.
Dude, take off the plastic protective sheet for the commercial at least! LOL I must admit that I have never seen an advertisement this fancy with the plastic protective sheet still on the product. Nice camera work, though. Just next time, open the package fully for the advertisement.
