The timing on this release is so perfect. I was assuming since the t word company had that body style in 1/10, that it would be what was coming next for their 1/18. Glad to see they got beat to the draw.😂

I’d say that the excitement we hear in your voice is real. Looking forward to the running vid. The body is large enough that it may scale well with some of the larger tires too, giving it a look consistent with the way 1:1 K5’s used to be modified back in the day.

I had heard fms was coming out with a new model, and I said whatever it is I hope it’s a 1/24 scale and under $150. It’s like they heard me cause man they nailed it with this one!
idk if its even a 1/24th or a 1/18th it almost seems like 1/20th is where it belongs

Looks great! My only critique is that the Blazer wasn't a pickup. There should be a bench seat instead of a rollbar when you remove the top.
People still installed roll bars in Blazers and Broncos. That fiberglass top isn’t going to do much in a rollover.

@@wakkogn9351 this for crawling definitely. The smasher for a monster truck but they are the same truck just different bodies and the smasher has the open diff

Got my FMS 24 and it has the same wheelbase than a very old 1/24 Devastor (or i dont really know the name anymore). The wheelbase seems to be the thing they say its 1/24, but the canopy is more like 1/18. I really like that rig "RTR" which is not the thing i usually do, its super nice with a couple of Quirks i need to figure out how to get over (like steering sometimes "reset" itself to a weird position until restarting all). Its a very good truck for the 150 Bugs RTR price, i think. Also some 2 to 7 year old Kids drove it in low and high and how kids drive it for 3 batteries, i was expecting at least the diffs to break, but it holds really well. Thumbs up FMS, you´re my new favour i guess (beside of Arrma and Traxxas for bashing rigs) =)

The difference with the FMS K5 blazer "1/24" and the FMS Chevy K10 "1/18" is the FMS K5 Blazer is actually 1/18 and the K10 pickup is actually 1/16.

Man, FMS has a chance to really lean into this platform and pickup some market share, especially with t-word shooting itself in the foot regarding community PR. I hope FMS learned with the last Tx bait and switch debacle not to do that again. I’m preordering the black, I’m a sucker for a color matched camper.
I didn’t realize it was a hard body. I guess it’s better that I got the mystery machine. I wanted something different but comparable to my scx24 for when a friend stops by.
I told myself if the T word released a 1/18th K5 I'd get it then last week happened. Looking at this I definitely know the answer.
And their site doesn't allow shipping anywere except the US. They just lost 18 sales as I was ordering for others in our local group.

If you were to build a rig meant for crawling and for towing trailers (occasionally a weight sled maybe), would you use the FCX platform (would 100% be one of these K5s), or a Trail Hunter with a 2 speed finagled in somehow?
Cool rig, do you think a Tamiya spray gloss clearcoat over the body would secure the pinstripes and look okay?

Does the V2 transmitter/receiver/ESC combo provide this low speed on the rocks as well as on the flat ?

I believe they have some bushings in the portals. I’m gonna open mine today and find out for sure

Which truck is the beater red truck? I'm looking to get my first small scale crawler for inside the house and some mild off road stuff in the back yard. Which vehicle is better for that? I love the look of the brown K5, and love the aging look and wheelbase of the red Chevy. I also like the look of the Smasher.

Yeah they do! So excited that fms is now offering their looks for the 1/24s. They have some amazing looking bodies.
It sounds like the Power Wagon version of the FCX24 is now shipping with metal gears for the portal axles. Any idea whether the K5 Blazer is shipping with plastic or metal gears? (I just ordered one, and want to know whether I should go ahead and also order the metal gears knowing that the plastic ones will strip pretty easily once I upgrade the tires...)
All of the fcx24s ship with metal portal gears now. But they still have the plastic spoil in the diff. It’s not as quick to strip out but it probably will eventually. I usually change them out to a metal spool or the metal open diff from fms and just lock the diff up using some jbweld or something.
Wish it was a Ford or a dodge done with Chevy but very gooooood looking bod

This is a great looking truck with some cool features, got a black one on pre order, can you tell me size of lipo in mm (lengthxwithxheight) as i want to make a 2s Li-Ion pack for longer run times, or do you know of a larger battery that will fit thanks
What did Traxxas do? Did I miss something?
They sent cease and desist letters recently to a bunch of small businesses who were making parts for the Trx4m. Several smaller US based businesses had to shut down their websites and remove items etc because they had Traxxas name in the description of the parts. These were all parts that made the truck much better & because Traxxas wasn’t making money off the parts they wanted to shut them down. Didn’t give any warning to several and just contacted their website provider and got their sites shut down completely. Making them jump through hoops for no reason basically. Just because they are money hungry.

Bearings I believe.
I haven’t dove into it to see if it has the partial bearings like the smasher but I think it’s full bearings.

Yeah the way they did it initially wasn’t great but I think it’s all been sorted out. They still pretty much suck as a company. Always have. At least they give us some good bashers 😆
FMS is out of their mind. It's clearly 18th scale, but they insist on calling it 24th scale. They're still trying to play the 24th game when the TRX-4M has shown that people really don't care. Both the Butcher (Power Wagon) and K5 really want to be 10mm longer, both for looks and for performance. You can see on the K5 body where they fudged the dimensions to fit it to the 139mm wheelbase. Once you see it, you can't un-see it. So disappointing. It had a lot of potential. At least on the Butcher you can easily extend the wheelbase. You'd have to hack up the K5 body and then it would look even worse.
Yeah I do wish they had kinda shrunk the entire thing down a bit or just went full on 1/18 because like you said we’ll run it how we want anyway. My Trx4m is 1/24 in my mind just because I run it on the same obstacles as the 1/24s so it really don’t matter much. I still love the look of this one but I get what you mean for sure!

I haven’t been told that yet. We were all just saying the T company for awhile. I’m not quite sure how I’ll handle that yet if I am told not to say it. Pretty sure that’s got something to do with my freedom of speech lol

Nice body but the length is still short and you have to spend $40 to increase the rear link. The max is better platform for crawler build.
