Another weird loophole. There was a play in the Super Bowl. Goedert had a catch on the eagles sideline and he ran around personnel to get back on the field. Ref stopped the hurry up and said it’s considered a substitution so Kansas is allowed to substitutions too.

Playing in the NFL is hard. Lots of ppl seem like it but you gotta be the top of the top to play and stay in the NFL. He played well over the league average years and was a pretty good special teams player...

Lol I played in HS and College the only one of these rules I knew about was the establishing yourself out of bounds and getting the ball to get it on the 40 and thats only because I had to be a return man once when our top two returners got hurt

On a kickoff the returner needs to be able to field the ball....kickoff teams playing the sideline in order to have a coverage advantage runs the risk of this happening in the field of play....

Wait, so the way he explains it is that if the punt team touches but does not possess the ball then the return team can pick it up and run it back to the 1 yard line and it still ends up where the punt team touched it?
I think so....check the rams/saints game back in the 90s....no one on the punt team touched/possessed the ball.....and it got return for a TD
Yes, IF there is a penalty or a turnover then the receiving team can elect to spot the ball where it was downed. If you just returned it to the 1 you would obviously choose to take the ball there but you have the option to take either dead ball spot
