This is one of the best videos Stephanie has ever done on bezeling Cabs! I've learned more from Stephanie in just a couple of vids than I did from 50 or so beading books.. She's a brilliant teacher! ❤️ 💐
Explaining the difference in the cabs and how to adjust to them is just what I needed. Thank you so much for another fun and informative tutorial. I have been cab happy lately, a nice change.
Thanks, Stephanie, for guiding us through bezeling a cabachon. I had to laugh, at about 16:30, where you encourage us to "hold it gently" is usually where I have a freakin' death grip on the cab! Thanks for sharing your beading experiences with us.
I've been beading on and off for 60 years - since I was 8 years old. I learned from a young native/american boy, my age, who had a crush on me & wanted to teach me. I've been wanting to learn this technique for a long time. When I first wanted to use cabs as focal beads, I could find more info using wire than beads so that is when I started using wire. I'm so grateful to see this being taught here - thank you! 😉
Before bezelling a Lunasoft cab, be sure to apply a thin layer of resin or clear nail polish to the back. Otherwise, the metallic backing will easily scratch
Stephanie such good information! It helps so much to actually have a visual perspective. Once again, you are such a good teacher and I thank you for sharing your talent! 💐
Thank you so much for your time and support. I love to listen to you, learn from you and most of all absorb your inspiration. I think that your work is absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much 💞
I love, love, love, love all your videos.....I have learned so much from you....thank you for being so awesome....can't afford some of your fancy beads but you always give us alternatives
OMGosh! As much as I love your "Mother Earth" pendant and your "Turquoise Love" pendant from 4 years ago, both gemstone cabochons, I really appreciate this tutorial. You've shown me that I'm on the right track with figuring out how to bezel my flat-back stones and crystals. Takes a little trial and error sometimes. One thing I really like about this design is how you used 2 different colors to create a stripe that goes up the sides of the stone. Then by reversing your 2 colors when you down-size to the 15's, it differentiates the top ring/rim from the side part. So beautiful. One thing I'd love for you to show us is how you get the scalloped edge on the top. I think I can figure it out, but it's always nice to see how. Thanks so much for this awesome tutorial! Really appreciate your time and efforts.
So glad the tutorial was helpful Michelle! It really is a process and doesn't always come out depending on the shape of the stone. But so worth trying!
Saw your beautiful new necklace and you mentioned this video. I commented on this a year ago, so I had to go back and review this wonderful teaching video. You are such a great teacher! Gosh this made such a difference to me because I believed I would never be able to bead like this. Now because of your reassuring and calm nature I did learn and now think nothing about tackling a cab. Thanks so much, Stephane. 💞
Been waiting for someone to show me how to do this. Everytime I try. I rip it out and walk away for a while. I have so many cabochons to do. thank you Bronzeponey. Love your stuff and your style. You are amazing.!

Hi there. I just wanted to thank you so much for showing us how to bezel a cabochon. I'm a self taught artist. I do gemstones, crystals, wire wrapping and beadweaving jewelry and special ornaments meant to be displayed. I sell at craft fairs and poshmark. I've been beading for about 4 years but never knew how to bezel a cabochon. I can bezel a round swarovski rivoli. I'm super excited to try this out on 1 of my ten thousand cabs. Lol. I appreciate your taking the time to share this with us. Once again, I can't thank you enough. Sincerely, Melissa Doucette p.s you're a super teacher.

Thank you for this, Stephanie. I have been looking for a bezel for cabochons. Most videos I could find are for bead embroidery, although yours are great.
Recently I bought a book which was recommended to me on bezelling cabochons. What a waste of money! Your video was so much more instructive and so inspirational. Your choice of beads is always so beautiful and inspiring. This book was the complete opposite in choice of beads - delicas didn’t even get a mention - and there was very little there that I found inspiring.
Thank you much! I have so many cabs I bought intending to wire wrap...but got burned out of wire wrapping. I have a few tear drop shaped ones also that I would be interested in learning how to bezel if that is possible!...I love all of your creations!

I have a couple of questions, I hope someone can answer. I have quite a few loose stones of different shapes and sizes. Cobachons, emerald cuts, faceted ovals, even a few marquis cuts. Some of them a rather large, some a really small. I would love to bezel them all using bead weaving. So my questions are: What is the difference between making a bezel for a cabochon, and a faceted oval? Is it possible to make a beaded bezel for an emerald cut, and a marquis cut? Does it matter that these loose stones were purchased over 30 years ago? Are there tutorials for bezeling emerald cut and marquis cut stones?

Hi Stephanie! Always love your tutorials but this one I really needed. I tried doing this months ago and my natural stone was thicker. Hi Stephanie, You do such beautiful work. I am always looking for your next creation. I have some beautiful coins I’ve acquired and have been looking for a way to bezel around them so that the bezel doesn’t cover too much of the front of the coin. Some coins are so beautiful and some are meaningful and would make a great gift. Do any of the Bezels you have done come to mind for this project? Or could you come up with one for a video? Please and Thank you.
Hi Stephanie! I'm hoping you see this comment and comprehend my query. At the very beginning of your video, you have a few of your pieces on display. There is a milky stone with a really great scalloped edge. I do your trick of adding my row of 15s and then adding a 15 every other bead, but it doesn't create quite an intense scallop like that. I'm at a loss of how you do it and can't find a video on it. Any advice? A video response might be cool, if you want. 😘

Thank you Patricia🙏 Here is the Halo Necklace which features a teardrop shaped stone ua-cam.com/video/wSAFS2-gys4/v-deo.html This one is the Goddess Pendant which features a flat back teardrop shaped cabochon ua-cam.com/video/YOSdxytPb4s/v-deo.html
Stepannie...if this was part of an embroidery piece, could you do the backstitch first and then peyote? That doesn't matter, does it?
Yes that is how I would proceed if it were bead embroidery . Remember to keep your back stitch bead count even 😊🤍
@@BronzeponyBeadedJewelry Oh right! Glad you reminded me!!! Thanks so much!
Can I bezel a flat on both sides, kind of teardrop shape metal piece? I’ve got these nice pieces I want to turn into earrings.
What do you do when you are done with the extra thread? Do you tie it in a knot? You didn't show how to completely end it.
I show in the video how to sew in your end threads. Time stamp approx 26:00. Sew through your beads on the diagonal around your bezel 😊
This is so helpful. Sometime in the future could you show how to bezel square, rectangle and teardrop/triangle? Tks.
Stephanie (bronzepony) has done the bezels you are asking fore. Go to her Y T page, se under videos - and ta-rah! All kinds of bezels for you! ;o)
@@mockingbird3564 well...i looked and cant find. i dont want to bezel a cushion cut square...i want a basic square or rectangle. Need to understand how to determine number of delicas and corner decreasing,
Can you also use rocailles?
This is so awesome
Hi Stephanie, You do such beautiful work. I am always looking for your next creation. I have some beautiful coins I’ve acquired and have been looking for a way to bezel around them so that the bezel doesn’t cover too much of the front of the coin. Some coins are so beautiful and some are meaningful and would make a great gift. Do any of the Bezels you have done come to mind for this project? Or could you come up with one for a video? Please and Thank you.
Thank you so much Deborah 🙏 I haven’t bezeled coins yet but will definitely give it a go😀
Hi Stephanie! 😘
The scalloped edge on that stone is from the Empress Pendant. Here is a link to the video ua-cam.com/video/nhn_iOsz60Y/v-deo.html
Luna soft cabochon how do you bead that pretty edging around it a video maybe x
I used this embellishment on the center of the 25x18 oval cabochon. Is this what you are referring to? ua-cam.com/video/nhn_iOsz60Y/v-deo.html
