Thanks for this. 'Walking Higher' is one of my favourite Heather Nova songs. Looking forward to seeing her live for the first time in London next week. It involves a 450 mile round trip but I am sure it will be well worth it! I bought her first E.P. way back in 1990 after hearing her play a live radio session (when she was Heather Frith).I didn't hear anything more about her until 2 years ago when, (being relatively new to You Tube) something inspired me to type in 'Heather Frith' and I was pleased to discover that she had enjoyed two decades of success after changing her surname to Nova in the early nineties. I was annoyed with myself for not working this out earlier, but at least I had two decades of albums to catch up on!
Thank you for your nice comment. I'm pretty sure the long trip will be worth seeing Heather live. Enjoy the show and probably like in Cologne you'll have the chance to get your album signed by her at the meet & greet after the show.
+harry47111 It was well worth the long trip. Heather was excellent, as was her cellist/multi-instrumentalist Arnulf Lindner. I was pleased that she did 'Walking Higher'-such a beautifully sad, melancholy song. She was kind enough to sign albums after the show and seemed (pleasantly) surprised when I gave her a C.D.copy of 'The First Recording' E.P. to sign rather than her most recent album. It seemed appropriate- as I had finally got to see her play live nearly 24 years after buying that single. It would have been nice to have taken the original vinyl 'Heather Frith' E.P. but it was too big to carry!
Mesmerizing. The most hauntingly beautiful voice in music.
I like it, how Heather throws away the plectrum between the songs.
She's so amazing. I've been listening to "Oyster" and "Siren" on repeat for the past few weeks.
She s just amazing !..

'Winter Blue' is so much better live than on the 'Siren' album, and 'Walking Higher' is a truly great song.
