- The Scorpene® is a 2,000-tonne conventional-propulsion submarine designed and developed by Naval Group for all types of missions, including, anti-surface warfare, anti-submarine warfare, special operations, and intelligence gathering. Extremely stealthy and fast, its level of operating automation requires only a small crew. Its combat edge is highlighted by its 6 weapon launching tubes and 18 weapons including torpedoes, missiles, and mines.
With 14 submarines sold internationally by Naval Group, the Scorpene® is an essential reference product in the area of conventional attack submarines (SSK) for navies across the globe. The product is easily adaptable based on naval customer needs and the progressive improvement through Naval Group’s dedicated and experienced designers ensures seamless advancements and modern technology integrations.

Unlikely. I believe the Greek navy will order more German subs. After all Greece uses German subs for 50+ years and has intellectual property rights on the type U-214. I hope though that Greece goes for the U-212CD design that will be built for the German and Norwegian navies.

C'est un peu présomptueux de parler des infos clés sur le Scorpène, la vidéo de Defense Insider est bien plus garnie..
Aucune comparaison avec le Barracuda qui est également vendu à l'export.
Une musique légère passe-partout pour balancer des missiles sur des frégates, y'a peut-être mieux à faire.
Surtout que les petits sous marins sont les moins discrets. Mais c'est économique ce qui est une qualité en soi

@@sonikUk Je ne parle pas du fond mais de la forme. Naval Group est capable de superbes vidéos (voir celle de la deconstruction du Tonnant à Cherbourg).
Ici, la musique est inadaptée, et on prétend présenter des chiffres clés mais il n'y a presque rien, comparé à ce que l'on peut trouver sur des vidéos d'amateurs.
Le sous-marin est bon, je n'en doute pas, mais la vidéo ne donne pas envie, elle ne met pas en valeur le produit.

@@naufalendram8063 we are already buying surface ships from SK already... but the main advantage of the Scorpené is the maturity of the design. Scorpené is a clean-sheet design (initially co-developed with Navantia of Spain) developed in the late 1990s to early 2000s. The DSME-2000 sub design is a development of the German Type 214 U-boat design and the parent design, the Dosan Ahn Changho class, has just only completed its first ship only two years ago.

The Australians owed a Barracuda class, not a Scorpene. It had to be much bigger and much more powerful. They have changed their minds because they are influenced by the United States, France's economic competitor. They are traitors and the French submarines are better. They will regret this choice, like Spain which today regrets its betrayal in the scorpene project.
