I have to say, you do a SERIOUSLY thorough job at showing off these kits. WELL DONE! No one else does this as well as you do. I hope in the future you could possibly raise the quality of the video above 1080P, as on my monitor it look almost 720P. I know how it is, and in no way trying to complain. Just thought If I were you, Id like to know this detail myself.

Great first impression Jason, this looks like a great project for someone that wants a WWI ship without spending hundreds on the kit. Maybe you mentioned it, but do you know what the overall length of the finished kit is? Reason I ask, I just acquired a display case and wondered if this would fit. Thanks for sharing, see you next time.

Apart from deluxe type kits where they include things like barrels we will always need to buy after market so with the one piece hull i think the price is fare , cheers marra . Regards Gav.

Another great first impression video, like all your videos. Looks like a great kit. One thing I'd like to see is one of these manufacturers, with all the great technology we have, come out with a plastic model kit that could be built straight out of the box finely detailed, without me have to spend an additional 1 to 200 dollars in aftermarket stuff. I'm beginning to think that they give you a model that has a very finely detailed cargo boom that looks almost like a photo etched part, with nice detail then they give you an aircraft crane that is nothing but a lump of plastic. I believe you did a review on a model that had something like that. My question is why? Are they money hungry or what? It gets very frustrating to me Jason. I believe that these manufacturers can do much better. If they can't manage that with plastic, then at least provide the photo etch as part of the kit without charging 500 dollars for the kit. I'm just venting, some people who love to build a model and want to make it look great can barely afford the model but, then they would have to come up with additional money to get the model to that point. Just frustrating, sorry on venting there, I'm just very disappointed.

I largely agree, some of it is down to cost and some down to wanting to make money on their own aftermarket, Tamiya have done that for a while and Trumpeter do it with their I Love Kits brand, look at the 1/200 Titanic, silly money kit with silly money extras. I think however you will enjoy the Tirpitz FI videos coming soon its all in the box at a reasonable cost.👍🏻

@@ModelkitStuff I'm looking forward to seeing that Jason. Like I said with today's technology, I think they all can do better. Thanks for listening to my rant my friend.

The molded in chain really turned me off. Other than that and a few other things I'm interested.

Oh yes of course. Wish it just wasnt on the model at all. But no worries ive done all sorts of heavy clean ups should be no problem. Love the video buddy! Good work!

@@ModelkitStuff Jason, neither although I referred to "german no space - no space navy" "dot" $tripod$ (I wont add the rest of it, assuming this works) as a good reference site for colours and painting of wartime High Seas Fleet ships. It wasnt a link, but I guess YT might be too clever. Strange how it doesnt pick up posts which are designed to take you to an ad or some other sort of scam (I have received a few of those recently).
The rest of it was reference to me buying SMS Konig itself plus a replacement 1916 mast and WEM etch some years ago (The etch and mast were never used and remain in the stash as I stopped the build for some reason and then lost the ICM kit when I moved back to the UK). WEM etch set can still be got from the US, although I bought mine in the UK. I have bought SMS Grosser Kurfurst recently as a replacement.
I prefer this ICM kit to the Hobby Boss Seydlitz. Apart from replacement barrels (there was a German guy who made them, but he seems to no longer in business), I'd think about 3D printed additions for better detail now. I think the guy from New Zealand has some High Seas Fleet detailing parts available (although I may be imagining that). Its the torpedo netting and booms and ancillary deck parts, which are the really significant missing parts from all WW1 battleship kits I've seen.

thanks I will check it out. yep the netting can be an issue, I have found an etch set or two with it in before now, but often the net is waterline! bit restricting.
