I had a request to play this and I've always felt like this game was unfairly received by critics and was actually a fun ass game. The deceiving marketing is what ruined gamers expectations and the game should've been marketed honestly. I would love to hear your thoughts on WD and would you like more? i think it was fairly received by critics. ubisoft did what they like to do with their games before release - show things that won't be in the final game. they did the same with this game.
Yea i've even modded it heavily from the base game. I've always been interested in the lore and story, from Iraq, Blume and the ctOS to even stuff like the Militia and Fixers. I notice even the most minor details in this game (like Bellwether or Iraq hiring all the people he can find, even underage teenagers, for the Viceroys). While the game did lack in overall content and variety I think the core gameplay was enough to make up for it.
I agree. While it's not revolutionary, it's still a solid third person shooter. Poor marketing really did a number on it. I love this game way more than either of its successors.
I had no regrets buying this game. Even tho there's some bugs and glitches, it's still a good game. The weapons and purchasing them is what made me enjoy this game unlike the Sequels.
Although this game is better than It's successors, it's still not a very good game. The game was and it always will be an avarage third-person shooter. The only good thing about this game is the combat. Everything else is average at best. The characters weren't all that likeable either (especially Aiden). This game was wasted potential. I feel like people are warming up to this game simply because Watch Dogs 2 & Legion. But me this game would always be average.
Despite the critics, this game was a masterpiece, even if the marketing ruined it, the game was still beautiful and they did a great job with the dark athmosphere which fits with the story. Chicago looked alive and the gunfights too were just so intense to me. I'm really glad you made a video on this gem
Loved this game when i got it. Luckily i missed most of the marketing so I didn't have ridiculously high expectations. The headshot sound effect is brutal too.
This game was utterly fantastic. The city atmosphere was just great, Vehicle choices was good as well...not much of a choice with color but I loved ordering the Dodge Monaco Station wagon or older muscle cars, Weapons were excellent and definitely offers one of the best firing experiences. Foliage is really something else, dialogue audio is realistic, and story line is extremely real feeling in terms of changing locations during a game, and it definitely hit home with Heavy rain with the family tragedy and interacting with them. Very intense game, one of the coolest world maps, I like the scenes were they drove in the lake area with those unsettling mechanical death machines crafted by the one guy.
it is a great game with better details than GTA V good cover mechanics , good gunplay good story (probably the best story of all the watch dogs games) the only downside for me was not being able to shoot from your vehicle

Compared to the garbage Ubisoft has been putting out recently, I'd say this game went from spoiled milk to fine wine. Excellent atmosphere, gang hideouts, convoys that you can play with different strategies, exceptional hacking abilities like the blackouts, lots of weapons, smooth gunplay, cool John Wick, and Jason Bourne atmosphere; the graphics are surprisingly good looking to this day. This game deserved the hate at the time because the marketing was so disgracefully misleading and made it the best open-world game ever when it should've been marketed for what it was, just a simple, fun espionage open-world shooter.

The combat reminds me off the dark knights movie combat. (Gunfights and takedowns)
