As a very tall golfer I always had Tom as a hero. I was lucky to follow him at Riviera CC during an LA open in which I verbally wished him good luck on the upcoming Sr's tour. On the first hole the par 5 Tom pushed his drive into the right trees. I thought he had no shot but standing behind him I watched him hit a towering 7 iron up over the trees an onto the green to make birdie. Those were the days of Tommy Amour irons and Magregor woods
this man DESERVES To Be in the World Golf Hall of Fame!!!! I and David Ferherty campaigned for many years to get him in the HOF and he is still not in that makes me very upset
The PGA HOF has criteria for entry….i believe it’s 20 wins and 1 major. He doesn’t qualify. Still, he was the Story in his golf career. He also played against the best era of winners headed by The best. That’s the way it goes and is life. Jack, Johnny, Lee, Watson,Player, Green, Palmer at the end of his greatness and Seve , the new breed. Take Phil, Vijay and Duval… if Tiger wasn’t there , but it’s the way it goes. We enjoyed Weiskoff… and hopefully he knew it .
Most of the greats had great bonds with their fathers. Notice that Weiskopf had a difficult relationship with his father, while Jack Nicklaus had a great bond with his. Greg Norman's father never approved of Greg pursuing golf. There is a fine line between the really great ones and the pretty good ones, or even regular great ones. Who knows what factors play a role at the moment of impact in the biggest shots of one's life, but it couldn't have helped Weiskopf or Norman in the big moments.
Tom Weiskopf hit the ball so well he couldn’t accept that he was being beaten by guys that didn’t hit it as well as him, but they scored well because of a good short game. Just didn’t have the mental discipline that Nicklaus had.
Working in this place was the worst thing that could happen to me, renting a house with them was the most difficult, they are expensive, I only worked to pay the rent, I had no money left to eat, I tried to talk to the human resources people, they didn't care, they didn't They helped, I don't like how they treat the employees
The employees are garbage for this company, the employees' cafeteria looks like a prison, the chicken in the cafeteria is always raw, the employees' house is the worst, 10 people live in an apartment for 5 people, the human resources don't They don't care, they don't help if you have problems with the house, you only work to pay rent, it's the worst thing that could happen to me, don't work for this place
I idolized Tom as a youngster. He was so cool and what a swing!
Full circle, the golf world knows you, and so do we . The fans appreciate you, wanted to be you and are always with you Tom.
Rest In Peace. Tom Weiskopf, what a beautiful swing he had.

One of my favorite golfers in the 1970's. I am so happy he has been so successful with course design.

RIP Tom Weiskopf (November 9, 1942 - August 20, 2022)
One of my favorites. He deserves the good life he appears to have now. Good for him.
Wonderful interview! Truly insightful. Thank you.
Announcer to Tw @ The Masters - Tom, what is Nicklaus thinking? Tw - " If I knew that I would have won this tournament. "
What matter more- being in GHOF or having most serious golfers of any age know who you were and know your game was admired by the best?
Toms swing was elegant............RIP

Tom Weiskopf will be using a 2 iron, Rory McIlroy wil be using a lob wedge.
I love your swing Tommy, why don't the young players swing like you wouldn't they keep the ball in play more often . . ha,ha.

Lerner's bullshit is second to none
He is the worst host on television in any sport. Just lame.
