You make it look easy. When I tried reassembling, the "L" side of the controller feels obstructed and the controller won't close together. If I force it, the L2 button won't press down properly. No clue what is the problem.
@@fckgooogle1000x I think there was but I cant remember that much, I just remember 3 foam pieces on the back part of the controller (one in the center and two more for the vibration motors to rest on).

@WolverineXXX21 what type of controller you have? vibration or no vibration? without any real detail, it could be either one of these problems, you put the reset button backwards so all it does is keep resetting... or you did not plug in the batter pack all the way.
Thank you so much! Your video just helped us save money. My 6 year old son, just wet his brothers controller. Won't even charge anymore, no lights, no response, no nothing. bro you’re a life saver!! i took apart my ps3 controller because the R buttons were stuck and didint know how to put it back together but i found your vid! Thx so much bro!
@JimmmyBMXz If that wasn't the problem then this may be... I am not sure which Dualshock 3 controller you have but some may have this check if yours does, on the reset button there is a plastic thing you put to be able to press the reset button when the controller is together, if you put that on backwards what that does is when the controller is turned on all it does is keep reseting so the 4 led lights just keep flashing
@ThaBaller247 its the rumble packs if you look under the rumble packs on the face plate of the controller there are 2 pegs that must be in front of the rumble packs
@oODarkResistanceOo the motherboard screw is the same size as the second set of screws you take out which if you have the model I am talking about the same size of screws that mount the rumbe packs.... the motherboard screw is smaller than the 5 screws you took out to open the controller
Very helpful, though I noticed you miss one important thing: from 1:25, when talking about putting this string into the notches, there also should be a piece of hmmm...black "sponge"? between the strip and this white plastic. This piece presses the strip to the circuit board.
all right so I hit my controller alot and throw it to the floor many times because my R3 was working bad, so I disassemble and assemble it again and now my R1 R2 L1 L2 and "O" "Triangle" buttons aren't working, there's any chances of being about this part right here 1:15 or it's just fucked up ? I already disassemble and assemble it 2 times and btw, my notch is also broken just like yours
That thing u put at an angle under the dpad, was it placed exactly the same way before u opened up the controller and replaced it? i wanna know this please! reply!
@tdtzegil This is what I suggest... close the controller and screw all the screws fairly tight, this allows the pressure to push from the green film on the board and with that pressure just as you did when you had the back cover off and the pressure from your fingers holding it together it should compensate when fully assembled. If that doesn't work then make sure the green film and the board has a solid connection to eachother
@GetThisHere101 I believe the little plastic film that the buttons hit is where the problem is at. I can't get it tight it stays loose and I have it on there fine I think when the PS Button hits it is not being recognized or something. But the red light on the controller does comes on...
@1meanieface1 either you did plug the battery all the way back in, or you installed the reset button wrong if it fell out and you had to put it back in. if none of the trouble shoot works let me know

Thanks for the tutorial. But the way you do it which is putting the circuit board in to the plastic while holding both in your hands is difficult. It is way easier to put the plastic bit into the case first, and then attaching the curcuit board in semi upright position.
In this video, the little bar of plastic between the triggers are attached to the back of the controller. However, in all of mine, it is separated from both sides and refuses to stay in place. It's making it a nightmare to reattach the two sides because it keeps moving when we try. That little thing you said not to lose for the d-pad wasn't there when I opened it. Is it necessary?
Thanks for helping, but there is in fact a small black foam piece which if not inserted correctly the controller will not work without. The foam pad goes underneath when you clip the ribbon board back on through the two posts. I didn't see it in the re-assembly, which is why quite a few people are having this problem. Good job on uploading the video about the reset button, there probably are others who made that mistake instead.
thanks fixed my old controller :)

There's a slot between the pegs where the green circuit board wraps around the White Base.

thumbs up if you're here because you got pissed off and smashed your controller

...and a piece flew in your eye. Which is why you wear that eyepatch?
I hit my controller against the ground because it was messing up and was doing what it was not supposed to in a game
I hit mine on the knee and literally buttons flew out, that poor soldier still lives to this day
can you post a video on how to replace the R2/L2 buttons?
