When you examine his presidency, and what he wanted to do as president, you realize he was making common sense decisions for the country. What he could not get done as president, he didn't see why he couldn't get it done as long as he was alive. Truest Patriot.

The main reason for his not being re-elected was the OPEC Embargo. Had that and the failure to rescue the hostages in Iran (thanks to the traitorous Reagan Administration who made a back door deal with Iran to keep Americans hostage to defeat Carter), Carter could have been re-elected. He was a great man.

If Trump didn't care about you, why is he fighting like a dog every minute of every day and NOT taking a wage. His wage is $450,000, yet he gives it all away. I am sick and tired of all the mis-information on these sites. They are lying to you. If you want the truth and believe me I know it after 3 years of solid research, then do your homework. If you believe the FAKE News, then be it on your own head, because I swear to you, it is all a hoax...democrats are the most corrupt people on this planet. If I told you all I knew you'd run for the hills, and I am not joking. Some of their doings involve babies. Look up Epstein and Rothschild on YT...please, and then look up Walnut sauce with John Podesta with a plate of pasta which has a baby's adrenochrome in it...and Hillary loves it because it keep her young. They then drink the blood and eat the child. BUT to get the adrenochrome at it's most potent, they have to terrify the baby. Think I lie? It's all on UA-cam, I promise you. Trump is doing all he can to undo the 25 years of corruption and I feel for him because his life has been a nightmare since day one.
One other thing, why are the demoncraps so desperate to get back in to the WH? Ask Rothschild, they are his puppets. This news channel knows the truth, they just don't want you to know...truth is power...

A farmer, a businessman, civil rights proponent, a man of peace. Yet also a veteran with 4 medals on his chest, who also under Rickover, served 3 months at the Atomic Energy Commission's Naval Reactors Branch during which he led a U.S. maintenance crew dealing with a partial meltdown of the Chalk River Lab's experimental reactor. He was, in effect, prepared for the job. His deep commitment to honesty and the benefit of humanity made him an effective negotiator between international adversaries of long standing. Deserving of respect as a man and a sincere public servant. A rare being, principled and effective.

@Base Man He added 9.3 million jobs, the fourth-largest job creation among all presidents.
In 1978, he negotiated the Camp David Accords. It led to a lasting peace treaty between Israel and Egypt. In 2002, he received the Nobel Peace Prize for his work in the 1978 Camp David Accord.
Carter signed the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act. It protected more than 100 million acres of land. He also expanded the national park system. The administration established a "Superfund" to clean up toxic waste sites and regulated strip mining.
In 1979, Carter negotiated the SALT II nuclear limitation treaty with the Soviets. Six months later, the Soviets started a war in Afghanistan that prevented the agreement’s ratification.
As for your assertion that Carter "did nothing" about the hostages in Iran, you're wrong.Carter imposed sanctions on Iran. He also froze all Iranian assets that were under the jurisdiction of the United States.
In April 1980, he sent an elite military team to rescue the hostages. A sandstorm botched the operation and killed eight servicemen. Although Carter's administration negotiated a release in December 1980, the Iranians deliberately held the hostages until after Carter had been replaced as president as a final blow against him. They were released a few HOURS after Ronald Reagan’s inaugural address.
Carter inherited economic problems from his republican predecessors.Upon entering office, he had to fight the stagflation created by Nixon.Carter’s immediate challenge was the combination of both inflation and unemployment. Nixon had created inflation by ending the gold standard in 1973. As a result, the dollar's value plummeted on the foreign exchange markets. Import prices rose and created inflation. Nixon tried to stop it with wage-price controls in 1971. That cramped business growth and increased unemployment.
In 1979, Carter appointed Paul Volcker as the Fed chair. He raised interest rates and ended double-digit inflation.
In 1979, OPEC raised oil prices to an average $20 a barrel. In response, Carter instituted sorely-needed energy conservation measures. U.S. oil consumption per person was twice that of Europe and almost three times that of Japan.
To end the energy crisis, the Carter administration created automobile mileage standards. It deregulated the airline, trucking, and railroad industries. He established a national energy policy that deregulated oil prices to increase U.S. supply. The combination of lower demand and higher supply led to lower oil prices.
To prevent future energy crises, Carter created a Department of Energy. Its goal is to regulate the industry and fund research on alternative fuels.
Carter's problems while in office were not of his own making, his solutions sometimes produced mediocre results, sometimes very good results. The narcissistic, corrupt man-child currently in the white house hasn't got the capacity to do better than Carter did on any one of the problems america faced in the 1970s, nor in the present time.
