Not a surprising answer, given that a picture of his belt-nado is on the official steam page, and he was part of that recent update video. He brings a lot of attention to the game, and he's showing that their game *works*. Sure he gets a hell of a lot of slowdown but everything still works.
Honestly it blows me away that the game still runs with how much he's crammed into it. I'm pretty sure many "greater" games would just outright crash under that strain!
I love how he pushes the game to its limits to purposely try and break it. It shows that despite it all slowing down, you can cram a LOT in your playing. XD
Yes he Makes the game better the reason why satisfactory is optimize much better or optimize so much is because of Josh because he push the game to its limit and that’s how it makes it so funny with all the garbage he puts out so funny and a mix the game better
Josh is functional chaos… It’s amazing to watch how it will unfold and he keeps you guessing what he did or will do. Sometimes it looks like a mess but sometimes that mess looks good, like when he wove conveyor-belts for miles.
Ofc they are okay with it if a player plays with it genuinely or how insanity or chaos you have cause like Josh.... just dont script it, cheat or any form of "hacking the game" compared to "breaking the game" is fine
I love that they brought up the clipping thing. I very much care about things not clipping, but it's SO nice when something just barely doesn't fit and clips in a way that I wouldn't see it anyway that makes it ok in my head.
tbf, clipping can also make something just straight up look better. It's an absolutely huge part of cosmetic work in Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo, for example - You'd basically never be able to make something look genuinely good in those games without clipping stuff inside of other stuff. While Satisfactory obviously isn't the same "kind" of game, it's still true about basically anything that allows you to clip things through each other, surfaces, etc. - Sometimes it's just... actually the better looking option. This can particularly be true of stuff like flooring in almost any game - Clipping a foundation into the ground so it looks more like an actual floor rather than a foundation is something I do in almost every game that lets me, and is legitimately one of the biggest reasons I can't play Fallout 4 without building mods and commands active. Since games don't generally allow you to build stuff to exactly fit a space, or allow you to alter a space to exactly fit something, clipping's the best solution. It's incredibly simple to just allow players to at least toggle clipping options so if you want a 1 inch floor instead of a 6 inch floor, you can just clip it into the ground by 5 inches.
My first run of the game (before drones were implemented), I had a strict "no clipping" policy. I wanted everything to look orderly and not impede my movement at all. So, I had a very nice looking base that took me hours upon hours upon hours to even get going. I spent more time making it look nice than I had automating things. My current run, which I started when I bought my new PC over a month ago is "who gives a crap about clipping?". I've found it very relaxing to not worry about clipping. The most efficient routes for any of my stuff is just to clip it through terrain, other machines, other belts, or just whatever. The shortest distance between two points is a straight line. But only because the game doesn't have "instant transmission" yet. I've made considerable time on this run by just not caring about how awful the clipping looks. But, I also decided that I'd "pretty it up" at the end. You know, when I've already unlocked everything. Then, I'd have time to "make it look nice" and remove the clipping issues. For now, I'm basically "speedrunning" the game and clipping through everything to get there and unlock it all... with mild bits of automation here and there as needed. So, I very much love the "clipping" part of the game. On top of which, sometimes, being able to "clip" is actually very helpful. Especially in making some things "look nicer". I still love shoving "pipe supports" into walls so that they look like natural places for the pipes to have been inserted into the wall. There's like another dozen or so "small clipping" things I also do just for aesthetic reasons too.
Josh is 1000% the reason I bought the game along with a handful of others. I didn't even have a computer capable of playing at first I was having to use Nvidia GForce Now to play but I didn't care. Now I can play it on my computer and I literally cannot put the game down at times.
"People that care about clipping wont clip" Is spoken in a manner that understands the player base. I dont clip in satisfactory 99% of the time, but theres always that little thing that throws me off so i will, and i try to make it look good in the process. In any other game this would be a pretty hard thing to overcome and would add another hour or so figuring out a different way from the way i prefer just so it can stay the way the devs intend, I love the way they have handled clipping. It allows people like me to express freedom and build the factory i want, and others to just play the game without any worrys. Satisfactory is a beautiful game because of player leniency.

Completely forgot about Jace! Blast from the past!
