I was on that ferry about 3 months ago and I see as you leave the ferry, they have still not sorted the road markings out as it looks as you are going in the wrong direction. It had me a bit confused.
1. Book online ferry, Hull to Rotterdam 2.Go to Hull Port for Boarding follow sign, no papers/documents needed just passport 3.11 Hours later You are in Rotterdam and Hit the Road , no any borders .

There was a changed traffic direction. Just follow other cars. It's always one way out. Just ignore road marks
