You make that winder seem so benign :-) I have a video of a 31 day mainspring getting away from me on one of those winders. Needless to say I now have an Ollie Baker style winder - much cheaper than a trip to Urgent Care. Thanks for the video - it was helpful to see how that winder is supposed to behave.
I had a very bad experience my first time using one of these, and needed 3 hands. The "clamp" on mine barely grips the wheel. I don't have a nice winder yet, but I learned my lesson that first time and now I only use this thing when it is locked into a vise, so that I have two hands free to deal with any issues that arise.

I found that the winding arbor does not stick far enough out to get the key on!
