I absolutely see your point. You got to start somewhere, and the earlier you learn the basics, the earlier you'll have a succesfull business. Could you maybe do a video on how you convinced the dealers to let you test drive alot of cars? I bet that would be some good stories.
That is the goal. I always want the content to reflect the title. Sometimes they are just great stories that jump around and I can only get a title that relates to part of the story but we do the best we can.
My plan was actually to paint the intake plenum and valve covers in the same gold. Lamborghini did those parts on the first Grigio Telesto press car in Magnesium and they came out awesome. My tech thinks the paint might not stick but I may try it anyway.

The guy in the interview is a snake and lies the whole time and the interviewer at the end calls him out and he comes clean. It's pretty crazy actually. Search Vice Miami Exotic cars. I'm sure it'll come up. The main guy in the video looks like a small time Latino rapper with a hat and glasses lol

He could've given a percentage to the guys but he's the one who brought it to the large scale that made it what it is today. He could've taken a different small burger joint and done the same and although it would've been slightly different in taste, the end outcome probably would've been similar I think. I could be wrong though!

As an AUDIBLE junky I have to tell you, how sad I was today when I looked up your book FOR THE RECORD only to find there is no audio version, the only thing worse would have been finding it voiced by anyone but you. Ed you have a great story telling voice and style, and if you can take the time to voice it yourself I think you will find all fan boys, myself included forever grateful.
How can anyone dislike this story, he had a dream car worked his but off so that he would have an opportunity to own it one day. Brought one with the banks help but flipped it for another one in a year. (still his dream car) One that was nice but not as nice as the other one BUT WITH NO MONTHLY PAYMENTS or loans of any kind. Ed, will you ever run out of stories!? I feel the same way as you when it came to owning the "perfect" thing. It's always amazing to own the best example, but it's almost cringeworthy to use it or make it, "less perfect." I think you made a great move owning it for the experience, and picking up one that's more suitable to just drive the hell out of.
I suppose it will happen at some point but I have the next 30-40 charted out and I continue to have new automotive experiences so I am good at least through the end of next year with 1 per week.
Have you ever looked into how many 6 speed Performantes were produced or are in the US? Out of all the cars I've ever driven I have to say my 4 days with a 6 speed Performante is something I'll never forget.
Ed Bolian I did a bit of research and only found 4, 3 in the US and 1 in Canada. Out of the 4 only 1 (the one my friend let me borrow) has the comfort seats and the rest have the sport / bucket seats.
Such a good and relatable story, bought a 1968 Mustang about 4 years ago for a project car and I’ve been restomod converting it as I get the money, the only problem is that I’ve made it too nice and I’m still in high school where I have to parallel park or park way far from the building to not risk getting door dings. Its by far the greatest first car I could ever imagine and I still drive it everyday, but there was just a nice feeling when I was driving it dented and oxidized with a old blown head gasket 289 where I could just drive it however or park wherever.
We are definetly a rare breed. I can recite the VIN's of all three vehicles that I currently own plus all former vehicles that I have owned (about 6), plus the VIN's of friends vehicles that are of collectable status. It must be a photographic memory thing. People say I need help. Keep up the great content, I am really enjoying this channel.
Funny enough I used to work in the car business and we had a trainer come in from Dealer.com and he had a MKIV Supra that was also his first car. He knew the VIN off the top of his head and he talked about the car like it was one of his kids. I thought it was really cool.

I would rather a higher mileage less clean version I can enjoy rather then a car I have to always be worrying about mileage and cosmetic wise.

that's a great feeling, having a car that isnt perfect. My first car was (and I still drive it regularly) a used 2004 toyota solara. it's rashed and scratched, but it runs and wont let me down. It's far from perfect, but I dont want to ever get rid of it.

Absolutely. SG54 definitely warrants hero status. Given the number of track miles and the number of drivers, that seems (relatively) reasonable.

that's a great feeling, having a car that isnt perfect. My first car was (and I still drive it regularly) a used 2004 toyota solara. it's rashed and scratched, but it runs and wont let me down. It's far from perfect, but I dont want to ever get rid of it.

Ed's philosophy is best philosophy. Not on the same level, but I've enjoyed having a high-mile ex-basket-case quasi-exotic. Mileage is now a game, not a worry.
