Easy way for the league to avoid liability... now they can say the players are choosing not to wear it.
This 👆🏻
Yeah pretty much
The league shouldn’t have to deal with liability anyway… these are adults making an informed decision to play knowing the risk.
@@GodsServant543 l-o-l. bootlicker
@@GodsServant543 So true, these losers make more money than 99.9% of people and also want better coverage than everyone. Everyone knew that getting hit in the head wasn't good and that it had long term side effects, and then they go to complaining. The losers should all be retiring at 30 years old. The issue is greed and all these loser players wanting to make millions playing a kids game. Walk away at a younger age, and many of these issues will go away
They look pretty dumb, but Damn I wish we had these in HS. I'd walk away from some practices with massive headaches
There's a mild possibility you already have Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy.
I graduated in 2014 and we had those in high school.
When I played they didn’t have the term concussion yet. It was called Getting your Bell Rung 🤣 Now get back on that field 😆
Hahah 😂 true true @@Thadopeera
You can see Rodger Goodell holding a gun to this guy in the reflection on the helmet
Haha😂 😂😂 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Nicely done Neil
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 So good…..and true lol.
Say it’s not for concussion
😂😂😂😂
Troy polamalu says he would’ve worn it in games if they would’ve let him. He was the only one wearing it in practice. The smartest, most humble guy in nfl history wishes he could’ve worn it. We can learn from that.
They should add a helmet on top of the two helmets, then add another helmet on those 3.
This guy might be on to something
then throw a guardian cap on top of that
@@heyyoadrian Have you guys thought about 5 helmets?
@@clintholmes2061the 10 yard helmet!
Might be one too many
every defensive lineman gonna have the bubblehead so qb gonna wave to be 7 feet tall to see infront ahah
I want to see this now hahaha it's a great idea for sure
Bryce Young is going to be bouncing balls off of heads
@@hhaste Make it an extra point if you can trow a TD off that bounce! HAahhaha! Gotta keep changing, I'd go for that!
They Need the helmet from Spaceballs.
Y E S ! And still throw a flag if the defensive player hits the offensive players helmet
You should have heard the trash talk when the league transitioned away from leather caps.
They might not be sustaining as many concussions if they had stayed wearing the leathers.
How old are you? 😂😂😂
This is classic!!! 😂
I mean when Hockey started making players wear helmets the older players refused and literally got grandfathered in to the point that there would be one player on a roster in no helmet 😂
Old dudes aren’t always right, especially when living in America for the last 8 years we should know this by now 😂
@@eliyarrows2456 i remember this when i was a kid. Thered be one guy skating around with no helmet. They were rare though.
The guardian cap looks like a punishment for messing up a play.
Real life bobble head
This is all Vontez Burfecks fault.
If it’s legal to were those huge helmets I would make sure each one of my D-Line has one on adds another foot of height to each guy even harder to see over / pass over
Crazy idea, get rid of pads altogether.
Rubgy Style X NFL Gameplay
I can see Caleb Williams in a pink guardian Week 1. Matching nails 💅 slinging dimes
it goes great with his purse
Would love to see it. I didn't care about Caleb at all until I kept seeing comments like this, haha. Now I'm really pulling for him to be great
Only if that O line doesn't fold like it has for the past decade.
I look at the guardian cap like headgear when a boxer trains.
"we see reductions in concussions."
"Can we see your experimental research and data?"
"No."
"... Correlational research data?"
"... Also no."
/Ah yes
//The NFL has never lied to us.
Cool, it’s their decision lol
why are you using JS comments
The guardian cap will not do much since must concussions don’t come the impact of a hit it’s usually impact with the ground causing a sudden stop thus causing the brain to slam into the inside of the skull
@@crunchytoast6007nice try to sound like you know something
I'm excited to see the direction the NFL is going.. Bobblehead Flag Football is awesome.. Hopefully Taylor will buy one of the teams 🤞
Id wear it. Your brain is priceless
Dude was giving the rock eye the whole interview 😂😂😂😂
Two players colliding and improving player recovery time to 30-40% is not how physics works
They are literally turning the NFL into Sacrcasta-ball from South Park
Since it's an additive effect if they team tackle well with 7 players this will be closer to 100% force reduction with these helmets which blows my concussed mind.
Yeah, when the guy said that I stopped taking him seriously.
That's the kind of math quacks use.
If they have 6 helmets that are safer than a regular helmet plus guardian cap why don’t they just mandate those helmets? Bc honestly I hate how guardian caps look
I think they are waiting until they have more variety of said helmets than 6 because some of them are made for specific positions
Dudes saying they look funny wearing these helmets, then go out and wear those giant baseball hats while having their photo taken or on tv.
Lookin at you Cam
@@zandertunes9602lol
Then they take their helmet off and they got the AB Lego haircut with a rat tail in the back 😂
Yeah cuz so many people wear those huh
Imagine the entire OsU team including Ryan Day wearing them and then allowing Lou Holtz to say they are soft 😂
Yall are soft
Reducing play after play blows, but the league's changed what hits are legal. Less players going full yeet on a decleating hit. Everyone's wrapping up.
These guys are still fast. As soon as the body stops, the brain has no where to go inside the skull.
Tua got hit legally twice before he was carted off
Guardian Waist Flags Is Next
Stop.
@@stormageddon248 if you don't think the league wants it to be flag you are lying to yourself.
They ran some tacky flag football league over the summer and called it the “future of football” and I think they are really going to test the waters with Olympic Flag Football in a few years. You’ll see some version of that applied to the NFL by 2030.
except this kind of stuff will prevent them from wearing flags in the long run...
It’s funny how their helmets are getting closer and closer to the original helmets.
ummm it just got thicker, not skinnier.
As a rugby fan I know 100% it would be 10x safer to take off the helmet and only wear the guardian caps. Players will stop leading with their heads
As a 12 year rugby league veteran (from under 6'ers to under 17's) and a few years later I also played a couple of seasons of American football, (in Australia) I 100% agree.
I played as a running back and the tackling technique I experienced was interesting, to say the least. I could distinguish between a former rugby player tackler and a newbie "NFL" fan player. The rugby tacklers were much more efficient with their technique as they'd hit and wrap, and take away your legs. And you can't run without legs.
Then there were the NFL torpedoes, which were so much easier to sidestep/stiff arm/hit and spin away from/goosestep.
I had an 8.7 yd average per carry because they didn't hit and wrap, they were trying to smash me which made taking their energy into my own efforts so much easier. It was well and truly some wicked fun though.
Self preservation is an unbelievable control measure.
@@alittlecreepywhenyousure buddy
You might want to keep in mind that NFL players are a lot more athletic than rugby players.
Like, when y'all send someone to the NFL they play kicker.
Rugby players don't deal with anything remotely close to the forces generated in the NFL.
@@alittlecreepywhenyouwhat’s next, navy seal? Created bitcoin? I believe you Mr. seal team 6
I’d bet my house Tyler Lockett will be using those in the season
He doesn’t need it to be honest
Research will come out in 10 years that it doesn’t make a difference
Feel like there already is research showing that. I dont recall who made the video
They will never admit it.
Seems reasonable to me it won’t matter unless it can redirect energy from transferring into your skull and brain.
Are they supposed to reduce head trauma or just padding to reduce other injuries? Colliding with limbs and stuff
newflash it doesn't make a difference at all at a certain point it doesn't matter what you wear on your head. science proves it at certain collusion point having a helmet doesn't stop head injuries the helmet can only absorb so much impact before it crumbles 😂😂😂
I remeber when the revo speed came out I thought this was peak lol
Willie bar comment sent me to the grave😂💀
Need to change the name from the Guardians cap to the Indians cap 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
LMAO, I was waiting for them to comment on that, and disappointed in Pat he didn't.
And so, Metokur is in the NFL front office and is going to require all players to buy a hat for their hat?
They should make a guardian cap for inside the helmet so they’re four times safer.. my research indicates a 100% reduction in lawsuits if they incorporate this technology
They should all wear Big Jack in the Box heads
I used the guardian caps my senior of highschool in practice in 2017. They feel weird. You feel the added weight gain. When you move your head around you feel the weight. But man do they help. You don't feel the hits at all.
They also made it hot as hell. Absolutely no ventilation with those things on. Summer practices were always miserable with those things on
We are heading toward sarcastaball
Because people don't want their brain to turn to mush?
I wore one in hs a guy came by and was like you guys wanna try it. I was like wait I can hit harder now to only down side is that your head bounce after impact a bit more so might cause neck injuries
Kickers/punters have always made tackles on kickoffs and punts. I still remember 40-year-old Jason Hanson taking out Devin Hester on a kickoff. Or making a tackle against Buffalo where the ball came loose (later ruled down) and Hanson tried to run with the ball before being tackled...also at age 40.
Why not a helmet on top of a helmet on top of another helmet then🤔😂
Bobble head helmets let’s do it
Trading cards will look goofy af with the guardian helmets on the artwork 😂
Dana Stubblefield was ahead of his time.
Would be good to see linemen rock these all the time. Protect ya head.
Let's just wrap everyone in big bubbles.
Mark Kelso from Buffalo use to wear something like that.
Yeah, my first thoughts as well. Kelso at the free safety spot with his over-cushion helmet.
Mahomes also has a unique helmet. Mahomes helmet looks like it has additional padding on the inside.
@@RageDaugMahomes’ helmet is made by VICIS. Flexible shell technology. Lots of players are using it. They ran into money issues in 2020 and were eventually acquired by the same company that owns Schutt.
@@malekodesouza7255 He's got additional liner inside than most folks have though.
Getting real “trust me bro” vibes from this guy
Guardian cap’s are good, but if the NFL was really worried about “player safety”…then games would ONLY be played on Sunday and Monday Nights!!!!
Its the same convo they had in 1950 when they switched to hard shell helmets, the game will continue to evolve and so will the equipment.
If I wore that thing I would just lead even more with the helmet…it’s gonna protect me, so why bother with heads up football?
@@acbower4468 because you should take every precaution and not just one
Thing is they went with shells instead of thicker leather for a reason.
Soft things catch. ESPECIALLY soft things with textures like these new caps.
A hard thing will usually glance off of another hard thing.
You really do want to have a hard and smooth outer covering.
We never had these when i was playing HS football, so I'm curious how much weight this adds to the helmets because being in the military now i can tell you adding weight to helmets increases the likelihood of neck injuries; From wearing your helmet for long periods of time and also the whiplash your head will take when your body gets hit and your head is still going a different direction.
I know this is safer, but damn does it look stupid as hell
We need a new version of NBA Jam with the big head mode. That would be so fun to see on modern systems.
It doesn’t matter if they don’t look good, it’s saving people’s brains and having players not dying 5-10 years after they retire randomly or going crazy
If they could include fart noises or chicken swacks into the Guardians, that would be awesome.
I could’ve been generational with one of those
I didn’t know what comment to say, so you get a 3 for 1:
Eventually players are gonna be in bubble wrap playing in a moon bounce field.
They need to start drafting smaller and slower players so they can’t hit as hard.
MMA fighters 👀
What if the entire league started wearing them as a prank. It would be legendary
Then let them play real ball then.
If you think the new NFL helmets look bad, you should see the new Aero helmets in the cycling world....Spaceballs??? 😂
I thought they were just "Guarding" the Helmet's, from getting Scuff's and Scratches.
I’m curious if this will lead to more neck injuries
Player's are gonna be running around the field lookin like bobbleheads
That doctor could not have made more sense and the fact y’all don’t just fully throw you support behind him is kinda got me DAHN on your show 😂
Always wondered why Kittle’s helmet bothered me so much lmao
Already happened in the 90’s. Mark Kelso of the Bills wore it almost every game. Local Bills fans called him Kazoo.
Worse is you see teams get favorited or not get penalized because they’re wearing them
Guardian Caps are stooopid!
The NFL.... putting a hat on a hat.
$100 Says Pat won’t talk about DCI happening at Lucas Oil this weekend 👀
The Wes Welker meme becomes reality
Guardian Caps are an option, BUT “Jugular Compression Devices” show much higher efficacy in preventing brain injury. Saying the caps are “allowed” not “Mandated” is just an insurance scheme.
It makes the target for a player’s head WAYYYY bigger. That ain’t going to end well.
Sarcastaball is real ya’ll. Bras on the helmets, next to come balloons instead of a pigskin. 😂
lol, say you didn’t watch the episode without saying you didn’t watch the episode
@@crunchytoast6007bro your mad ignorant. Just said your biased and soft .. maybe come up with an original comment that hasn’t been used for years .
Adding more cushion dropped injuries, I'm shocked
Sounds like a shaving razor commercial. Went from a single blade to 5.
Running Backs should definitely wear these Guardians for protection.
Wide receivers as well
In 10 years every game will be like the pro bowl was last year 🙄
If I'm paying 60 million a year I would make them play in full bubble rap.
Did Lord Dark Helmet from Spaceballs predict these helmets?
Like AJ said. As a former College LB. It was a weapon.
Nah, Bruh! Not with it!
The bigger helmet is easily the best thing for football. It’s funny looking and it helps the head
Lions fan. Terrion Arnold, while wearing a Guardian helmet, took a helmet to helmet hit in the Giants practice, went on concussion protocol and was back for practice the next day, Liking the helmet because, at least in this case, the player isn't sitting out as much.
Rugby tackle rules and you solve +50% of the problems. Game will be much safer and a lot less injuries
Imagine their surprise when they found out, just a day later, that JT was one of the early in-game adopters of the guardian cap.
Remember Don Bebe? He had an older version of one of these.
yeah we had this kid in highschool who’d use his helmet so much the facemask broke off. As an O Lineman. he was tough but crazy
It's a great idea. Anything that helps with safety is a plus.
The Bills’ Steve Tasker wore a version of this in games three decades ago!
Careful; bigger helmet, bigger leverage on the neck.
A neck snap is gonna be a lot more horrifying than a concussion.
Gonna be bobble heads out there before too long lol. Whatever helps these guys though I’m all for it.
next steps: everyone wears a tutu and a slap on the ass counts as a tackle
Hey! Stop calling out my fetish
What if we just get rid of helmets and pads, while wearing a cushioned cap like the old days? This would discourage players to throw their head or shoulders as a weapon. I mean look at ruby, it works with no protection.
Kind of relieved to hear him say that guardian caps aren’t the future better designed helmets are.
Love how they admit to not caring about concussions and instead only cared about keeping names on the field on Sundays.
Just another example of the NFL being a trashy league.
Imagine ppl mad that players are trynna avoid permanent brain injury 💀
10-50% ?? Who wouldn't wear it ?? That's huge!!
Probably the people who understand that a soft textured object is going to catch on another soft textured object.
These things are a twisted neck just waiting to happen.
You gotta have a hard, smooth layer on top so things can glance off.
The usual helmets are worse for direct impacts. These are worse for the far more common glancing blows.
Maybe extra padding on top of the usual helmet can be helpful, but the outer layer needs to be hard and smooth.
@@bolbyballingerNobodies neck is getting snapped 😂 relax
@@nextbigthing2917 The helmets gripping at high speed with that much weight behind them is going to twist necks.
That's basic physics.
Every defensive lineman should wear one, simply because it gives just that much less space for the QB to throw the ball over their heads
Might as well give them bubble wrap jerseys too
