Omg so eerie in that one room that seemed both empty & inhabited. Even by film you can see how liminal it is. I'd hate to hear those voices at night! I could actually feel why that was the one you hurried out of fastest. But the icing on the cake.. those automatic doors. That whole office was truly unnerving 😭🤣
I loved your filming of the stone walls and courtyards. I work in an historic site with stone walls, and they are absolutely evocative and beautiful...even resonant, yes. So much presence.

Australia really does seem like another world to me, I'd love to learn more about your country. I think the extent of what most people in the US know is the 'convict history' but it isn't something that we actually take time to learn about.
Our planet is incredible, the history of her people is filled with more stories than there is content on this platform. Thank you for sharing some of that history here.

History nerd here. America also has a convict history. If fact British convicts were sent to America from 1718 to 1775. Mainly America’s fight for independence then led Britain to look for another place to send their criminals. Although in today’s multicultural Australia most Australian come from free settlers we still embrace our convict past. Surely American’s know this happened in their country too?. The settling of new worlds were a sad and messy business everywhere.
So creepy and atmospheric! I love it! I live near a ruined English castle dating back to the 11th century... I want to capture some creepy footage next time the fog rolls in!

I love the timing of this... and we are having crazy mist rain in Austin Texas today. Glad to hear you describe it because I never saw it before. Our rain usually comes from the Gulf of Mexico- this comes from the Pacific Ocean and has a totally different energy. Thanks🙏🏼🦋😎👀

That was creepy, very well done! My belief is the same, a place can become traumatized just like a person. A trauma is like an abscess, it is isolated from linear time.

It's my understanding that most of the people who received sentences of "transportation" were convicted of so called petty crimes such as theft, prostitution, etc.
Yes, i think this was definitely the case, but there were also some actual dangerous criminals too.

There’s an old women’s suffragist jail near me that’s now an art center and apartments lol but for a while it was abandoned and we would go for our long runs around there with our school cross country team 👻 those mannequins remind me of museums in Cuba or East Berlin or something where they are used UNironically haha

It’s currently summer in Australia but the weather has been all over the place all around Australia these last few years.
My Internet bugged out and the image got stuck at that creep lady with the baby. I almost felt sick to my stomach 😬 Maybe my mother instinct to imagine a baby stock in that cell and dying in there and what the lady must have felt like😐Gonna have to go look at cute bunny video or something to change my mind after that 😂
It was so sad to see that and imagine the terrible life they led, hard to watch 😢 yes bunny videos now, or baby goats in pjs ha ha
