    No, but imagine you discover vampires are real, one bites you right in the neck, another one slams you against a wall so hard you’re left unconscious, and then later on you discover that while you lay there they proceeded to have just the meanest, bitchiest domestic in which you are referred to exclusively as The Boy.
    At that point you might as well just finish me off, tbh.

      @@LizBizEEEEWell, assuming you’ve watched the first season, Claudia was like a daughter when Lestat first turned her, but once Louis’ sister Grace left his life and Claudia mentally turned into an adult (cause of course she can’t physically), she became like a sister to him. Referring to her as a throw pillow, I think Armand meant she essentially became Louis’ punching bag in a sense, cause she always ended up being secondary in Louis’ life when he fell for someone. If not that, she was there to listen to him emotionally dump on her. That’s just what I think about that throw pillow bit though. Hope this helped 😊

    • @LittleDogTobi
      @LittleDogTobi Місяць тому +19

      Right? Accents tend to slip when actors are emoting this heavily (Delainey Hayles seemed to struggle with this), but Jacob makes it seem effortless: Pretending to be an American (with a regional accent, no less) mockingly and poorly imitating his native accent? Amazing.

    • @-Arkin33
      @-Arkin33 18 днів тому +6

      No but seriously. The way it gets stronger the more emotional he gets. The way he intentionally goes in and out of it, that fits perfectly to the situation, time period, etc. The way he effortlessly does an almost perfect creole/cajun accent, as well as an almost bland "modern" american-english accent. And how his american-english accent can sound either very slightly or heavily accented by his New Orleans accent... And it all sounds so seamless and natural... and then to know it's all by a very British man. I don't even know if I can properly say this right, but here goes: The fact that he's literally putting ON an accent, that is not his own natural accent, that is regional to a specific location, that is arguably one of the hardest accents to properly pull off. And then he puts an accent ON TOP of that, and also weaved in and out of it. That changed/es, throughout the different time periods of this character, WHILE ALSO occasionally speaking an entirely different language. And you never hear his British accent slip out even once. I don't know if there is an award for just that, but he definitely should have won one, for that ALONE.
      *P.S* While I am not Cajun or Creole or from New Orleans, I've met and heard people who are, who sound exactly like Louis. And I've spoken to people who are born and raised in NOLA. Who were genuinely shocked to know that he was actually British. One girl even said that he sounds just like her grandpa. It's amazing.

      @@tiaaaron3278 How is Armand classified as evil? He's done terrible, manipulative things but so has Lestat, Louis, and Claudia thoughout the entirety of the show. Everyone in this show is a monster in some right. What Armand did is terrible but I don't consider it any worse than the monstrous acts the rest of them have pulled. Lestat cheated, lied, manipulated, and then tried to murder Louis for trying to simply leave him. Claudia and Louis literally had to plot Lestat's murder to escape his onslaught of abuse and manipulation. If Armand is evil, then the other's would have to be too.

    • @-Arkin33
      @-Arkin33 18 днів тому +3

      Don't worry, you'll get the real Armand in the next season, or next two seasons. I can't say more specifically, without it being spoilers. But I refer to Armand as a "sleep paralysis demon" for a reason. There's a very real reason why Armand is so desperate to keep heavy control at all times, of everything and everyone around him... going as far as to erase and re-write peoples memories, and even their active reality as it's happening in front of them... it's not so much that he stops pretending, or acting. It's that when he loses control, he starts completely unraveling. There's a reason why Lestats crazy, toxic ass (with all the love), as obsessive as he is about companionship... would not stay with Armand. And there's a reason why Sam Reid himself said "you haven't met Armand yet". There's also a reason why show-Lestat and Show-Louis call him "gremlin", and it's something that Daniel & Lestat calls him in the books... The unhing(ing) Armand we saw in this episode, was just a peak at the "real" Armand. So if that's what you're hoping to see, don't worry, the way Assad is playing this character, you'll be very satisfied in the next few seasons. Especially this next one. But dare I say, be careful what you wish for. 😉

      @@armyonly2776This isn't the beginning of the scene. After Armand separates Louis and Daniel, Louis has like a coke nose bleed moment. Armand rips newspaper off the window to show that it's morning and goes off about he was at home waiting for Louis, he literally says picking lint off the sofa, but Louis was here with Daniel. Louis' tri-anual "fuck off and find me."

    Everything about this episode in this season was Emmy-worthy from beginning to end. What I loved even more is that they really fleshed out both Louis and Armand's character development by making them as flawed and fleshed out as possible. Plus I loved Armand's rant about Lestat because it really was that his whole obsession with him came from a place of jealousy and it shows in the acting. Both Assad and Jacob deserves the EMMYS!!

    God I love the actors and showrunners. They take it seriously. They revere the source material. Even if Anne didn't like changes made to her story, I believe the reverence would've really touched her heart. It was her dream to see her story adapted to the screen properly. Thank you so much Rolin, Assad, Jacob, Sam, and everyone else involved in this glorious production. You are doing it right. ❣️🧛‍♀️🖤

    Can we talk about Louis's "chop my hands off" remark? That's exactly what Armand did to Nicki! Is that coincidence or did Louis know about what Armand did to Lestat?
    Armand is truly one of the scariest and most dangerous characters I've seen. He's a silent manipulator and a threat. And deeply jealous and fragile. He's still in love with Lestat imo. Just like Louis.
