- Northampton vs Saracens was the first Gallagher Premiership final this weekend.
In a brilliant game Northampton won 22-20 to book their spot at Twickenham.
But what did this game tell us about both sides?
I thought up until the first quarter "here we go" Saracens have turned up and the big game experience is going to be a deciding factor. I actually thought Saints were going to do a Leinster with several rested and back from injury and not having a game for weeks.
Anyhow all credit to Saints, great defence and ultimately the scrum pumped Saracens and there ability to attack and convert puts them in a good place.
Great game , two quality teams going at it. Saints deservedly winners.
Difference between the two teams = the scrum. Saints dominated after 20mins
I thought Owen Farrell had a great game and part of that was that his kicking leg was sore so he kicked very little !!!! Much better running with the ball
Am sure we will lose Vesty to england. He has done a great job
If you see the connection he has with the players, I think he wants to build for more success. I might be wrong though.
Saints looking good! My favourite team in England after Exeter
COME ON YOU SAINTS 😇😍
I did wonder that too mate seemed a bit weird
Was Owen Farrell carrying an injury? He seemed subdued and he took no kicks.
He didnt kick vs Bristol either, nursing something in the right foot maybe.
Tore his quad start of the week apparently
Still kicked and set up the 2 tries we scored though
Scrum, sainrs defence and saints back line felt like the big diffeences for me. Although technically excellent Saracens back line didn't threaten with much pace or innovation compared to Saints.
