  • Probably remembered for the strange size of the word Christmas compared to the head. As you can see from the position of the lettering Noddy was not particular when he moved around. One slight knock and everything was out of place. I’m pretty sure a still picture was used at closedown again …. But it’s a long time ago.

    Actually, instead of showing the Queen, they apperently played the national anthem over the regular 80s Spinning Globe ident.

      Had a Phillips vcr that year with no timer. I sat there until closedown and nearly blew a gasket

      @@bdavebaldwin Thanks, nice video, even though I always find this ident a bit creepy. Some staff at the BBC at the time apparently comparing it to producer Barney Colehan. This is before my time slightly, so interesting to note that no xmas ident accompanied the national anthem. Impressed you had a video recorder at the end of the 70s, not bad. After a bit of research, 'the Robins' also had no closedown authorisation, so that's three in total so far.
