What sweetness of voice, what poise and grace, what lovely compositions, both in madhya laye and tarana in Maru Bihag.
While Kaushiki Chakroborty has sung some good numbers (khamaj comes to mind), my vote goes to Sawani for bringing out the soft spirit of the Indian woman as expressed through vocal classical. And she is so knowledgeable too. I am a practicing musician and keep learning from listening to her. She should become a regular feature in this program until she has shared all the ragas and bandishes she can with us. I thank the organizers for this series.
Only personal opinion Kaushiki Chakroborty is more of complete and she has in depth knowledge, and has huge subject about the ragg to present, on the other hand Sawani is beginner her voice is mermerising but raag subject isnot that much after 5 mins presentation goes dull, ofcourse she has whole life to learn and potential to become great. If Kaushiki Chakroborty had 50% voice of sawani she would have been one more legend.
@@MPrajwal Kaushiki Chakraborty is taiyar. Her renditions are full of technicalities. Kalapaksha is more in her renditions showing the perfection in taiyari. But she lacks in bhav paksha. If you listen to other legendary female vocalists like Kishori Amonkar, Prabha Atre, Veena Sahasrabuddhe, Suhasini Koratkar and others they have much of bhavpaksha which forces us to listen to their renditions again and again without getting bored.
