    The HP 5370B is a great device. What software do you use for the Allen deviation measurement?

      Greetings, the software package I use is Timelab. It's free and you should be able to find it easily using the search engine of your choice. It is written by the same developer that produced another free software package called KE5FX GPIB Tools. Thanks for watching.

    Good stuff! Are you phase locking an external oscillator to your HP 10811 reference to produce the 145 Mhz signal and measuring the Allen Deviation (AD) of the reference on the HP 8370B? Is the phase noise what's actually measured, from which the AD is calculated and displayed? Lastly, does the HP 8370B yield usably more accurate measurements than the HP 5371A?

      The HP 5335A reference was not phase locked. I had adjusted two days ago the references of the HP 5335A, HP 8644A, HP 5371A and the HP 5370B to a GPSDO. I have yet to check the phase noise of the 10811 in the 5335A. Since the 5370B offers 100uHz resolution at 10MHz I appear to be getting more accurate results compared to my HP 5371A.
