Dude. Ryuki is one of the main reason I loved Gaim so much. I don't know what it is, but watching people fight for what they believe in gets me pumped! Especially when it turns friends into enemies.

I seem to enjoy watching Tokusatsu more than Anime but Im not entirely sure why. Maybe I just love awesome costume designs and spectacular special affects I dont know. I've seen Anime do this too but Kamen rider just seems to do more for me
You're not alone. I've almost completely dropped off anime and have been watching more Tokusatsu than anything else for the last year and some change. I think (for me at least) its that you get more out of seeing actual people doing things you normally only see in anime and there's more of a connection. Similar story telling styles, similar stakes, but with actual people. Idk.

You nailed it! I HIGHLY recommend Kamen Rider Build. I can't recommend it enough. If you wind up doing Garo, start with the original series. Its one of the few that actually has a story line that spans the whole series. And I'm with you on anime, these days. I have not enjoyed many of the things I've seen lately.
Blerd Without Fear just watched the first episode of Garo. Not bad. I think I just have to get used to the different style. But not bad at all.

I've been a Power Rangers fan since earliest memory and that fandom has mostly endured over the years. I eventually became a Kamen Rider and Super Sentai. I deeply appreciate finding other blerds that are Toku fans.

I've watched Power Rangers, Kamen Rider Dragon Knight, and a vague recollection of watching a dubbed episode of Ultraman.
Good stuff my dude, grew up in the 90's and loved the original Power Rangers, VR Troopers and Masked Rider, and yes I remember Superhuman Samurai Cyber Squad
It was a great time to be a kid. My little girl has gotten hooked on OG Power Rangers lately. My wife was blown away when she realized this stuff has been around since the 70's lol

If you want the quick and dirty way to get into Kamen Rider, there are three sources that you can rely on: Over-Ti.me subs, TV-Nihon subs, and KissAsian.com
Over-Time and TV-Nihon are my go-to's. KissAsian was, too, but then I needed a way to get it to my TV. But yeah, those are really the only ways because Toei REFUSES to give American fans a legal way to watch it
@@BlerdWithoutFear I find it best that today, it's a good idea to just have a computer hooked up to your TV because much of the best content is found on the Internet. That way, you have the best of both worlds.

I've been trying forever to find a funny scene from a power ranger series, the scene goes like this: a specific ranger is fighting a monster but then he puts it against a wall and seduces it, the monster blushes and then they take a selfie, then he turn around slashing the monster ruthlessly 🤣🤣🤣😭😭

One suggestion you could do a throwback day or list of videos and focus on tv shows, cartoons, comics, manga, anime and ect that was big maybe in the 80's, 90's and early 2000's. I seen a few people do it with their channels blew up real fast.

Man, I remember the season that got me into watching Tokusatsu which was Samurai Senta Shinkenger for the Super Sentai part of it. I first heard of Super Sentai back when PR Samurai came out and immediately fell in love with the different seasons that they had. My top 2 favorite Super Sentai gotta be Shinkenger and Gokaiger (It’s one of the best love that show!) Now I only watched 1 season of Kamen Rider which was Wizard but I do plan on watching some more Kamen Rider seasons after I finish with Super Sentai.
First time I seen a character like that was when Godzilla had Jet Jaguar in it

I definitely plan to. I wasn't 100% at first, but I am definitely sure now. Zi-O is legit. Especially the story line they're touching on right now. Its tense as hell lol. And bruh.... Faiz and Ryuki are right up there at the top for me. I haven't finished Blade yet, but its hella good, too
Yeah I was never a big Power Rangers fan but gained a respect for via friends. Being a G-Fan that I I am currently watching the original Ultraman series.

Anytime! I had a lot more recommendations in the video, but when I saw how much over 20 minutes I was, I started chopping lol. But yeah, Beast King Go Lion and Ultraman are also some of the GOATs.

Tokusatsu is tokusatsu. Even if its American, Korean, Indian, or from any other country. Its actually quite common. I don't hate Dragon Knight. I just think Ryuki is better lol

Dude I have an original Go Ranger action figure from the 70's. I use to get alot of my toys from Japan town in SF. I had no idea that genre had a name. I also was looking for an Ultra man shout out. I know most of the original Japenese shows by their Americanized names like this one i watched called Spectre Man
Yeah I had Ultraman in there at first, but I cut out a lot of content because the video was going too long. Gridman was as close as I got (made by the same writers). I do highly recommend taking a peak at TubiTV because they have a TON of the original Super Sentai series on there. Including a couple we never had adapted like Dairanger.

Makai Kishi Zero haven’t seen gridman but I did see superhuman samurai cyber squad and didn’t like it when I was 10 in 1994 though tattooed teenage alien fighters from Beverly Hills was better,really into super sentai seenabout 15 sentais I know I am repeating I got memory problems😊

Oh yeah! I loved it. Reminded me of Ghidorah: The 3 Headed Monster and Godzilla: Final Wars. Not bad films to remind people of AT ALL. Glad to hear you're getting on that Kamen Rider! Ryuki is good stuff. Its the first time they ever really did Rider vs Rider as full story arc. One of my favs.

Godzilla KOTM was unfairly critized by Critics who expect the story being like Endgame(they Seriously set that bar for them)

Yo, doin' research for a video essay on genre development, genre drift, and magical boys of all things and this was a HUGE help for gathering up a broader understanding of tokusatsu as a whole seeing as while I'm in DEEP with the Power Ranger side of things, I'm still a fledgling with everything else. Definitely gonna check some of those recommendations out!

HELL YEAH!!!! We got a little something something for Garo coming up. I will say Gaim takes a minute to get going, but man... once every main player has his lock seed... its ON!!!! Build is a little formulaic for the first 6 to 8 episodes, but theres' a twist around 10 or 11 that made me stay on for life lol

Thats the problematic part. Toei doesn't really make them available stateside. You can import, but that gets hella expensive. I'd say try TV-Nihon or Over-Time or Kiss-Asian

Your forgot about another famous tokusatsu francise and that is ultraman and yeah it’s may be focused on kids but because your put sentai on the video so it would only make sense to put ultraman as well

What do you mean exactly. Like comparing the series to another?
Ultraman is another one of those series that's been around since the 60's. It's been a lot better in the past 10 years because each series is somehow related and they bring back previous Ultramen from time to time. It's definitely tokusatsu, but it stands apart because until the time comes for battle, the protagnonist is human, then he gets big to fight monsters.

The anime, depending on which one, tends to vary from ok to not so good. They're definitely not horrible. But I'd rather watch the live action
